The loud breathing sent a shiver down my spine, but I turned and sized up my opponent. He looked to be shorter than average, with tattoos all down his right arm. I looked at his belt, which held a wide variety of weapons. I gulped, but still said, “I don’t see your name on it.”. I like to live dangerously. His face turned tomato-red, and he began breathing heavily. “Besides,” I continued, “I didn’t know dwarves lived in Arvendall.” At that, his face turned into something more bull than human. Just then, the bartender came back and slid me my soda. “Thanks!” I said, flashing him a grin, then I unexpectedly chugged it and dashed out of the bar. I heard someone say, presumably the dwarf,“Let’s get her, boys!” and a whole lot of angry footfalls. My legs were shorter, so they quickly caught up to me. I put on a burst of speed and darted into an alleyway. They didn’t stop at first, but then there was all of them, cutting me off. Dwarf came out of the crowd and grabbed the back of my shirt, holding me up so they could all see. “I could break all the bones in your body!” I seethed. They burst into laughter, and I lifted up my head to look them in the eye. While I did, my hood fell away, revealing my face. Even in the dim moonlight, they could see the distinct facial features of a royal. I cursed, sure that they would turn me in. But instead, I heard dwarf yell, “Sis?!” ~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~●~ That's the unfortunate end of Chapter Two! Ten loves, and I'll write Chapter Three! Thank you, and goodbye!
