*decent music with green flag* (Stern) The silver hood of Stern's car was shining from the full moon's light. But, Stern was nowhere near it. The car was at the edge of the town, abandoned. Stern was in some bushes near the Johnson house. Hiding from the 2 guards standing on each side of the front door, armed with rifles. "Dang it, this is a problem." He whispered to himself. "I guess we underestimated that institute. Don't you think?" The voice in his head told him. "Don't worry, that'll be a minor stepping stone towards our target. I can get past them with ease, I just need to find a window of opportunity." "Don't start underestimating them again. We need a plan first. The eager hunter misses his shot." "What are you saying? Felix is only a hundred feet from us, this is one of the best shots we can get." "I'm saying, we should have patience. Let the bees settle before we get the honey. Rome wasn't built in a da-" "Okay, I get it, have patience. No need to do all that." Stern whispered as he left. "But I don't exactly have a place to stay." He continued. "Then use that superior brain of yours to figure out something." Stern thought for a little, "I've got an idea." He said as he ran into the shadows, not to be seen again for the rest of the night. _________________________________________ (Felix) A few weeks passed, and the Johnsons hadn't had any trouble, but when the police found Stern's car, they confirmed that he was nearby. The institute has lightened security up a bit because they needed the manpower elsewhere, they never told the Johnsons why, but they did agree to leave the best of what they have. Summer was getting close to an end, the weather was already getting a small bit cooler when September started. But during that time, Felix wanted to try meeting with his old friend Aiden, but apparently, he was in some sort of summer program, so he’ll have to wait until school started. There have been discussions about Felix getting back into school, which made him a tiny bit excited, but mostly worried. Emily asked if she could go as well, but they weren't even sure if the local High school would let Felix enroll. He had the grades and the social experience, but the school was mostly worried about what happened at that football game, which by now felt like a distant memory. After many meetings and a talk with the institute, the school agreed to let him in. Under a few conditions; he will have a guard bring him to and back from school, he is not to join any sports teams, and in the first sign of trouble, he will stay away from school, and all of the other students. The Johnsons agreed to their terms and convinced them to allow Emily as well, Emily was so excited to go, she practically dragged Helen to the store for supplies. Felix wasn't the happiest about not being able to join the football team, he knows that it was what was best for him, even though football has been a part of his life for as long as he could remember. Maybe when Aiden comes back, they could do football together, just like in old times. But then a thought rang in his head, 'What would Aiden think of all this, of the institute, the guards, Stern.' Then another, 'Would Aiden even want to be around me? I practically abandoned him, he must think I'm dead!' _________________________________________ (Emily) After loads of waiting, and close to no patience, the first school week of the year has almost arrived! Just one week! Emily was so excited to go to school the next week, to meet loads of people her age, she felt as excited as Harry Potter when he went to Hogwarts or Percy Jackson when he was touring Camp Half-Blood. She wondered how many friends she’ll have, maybe she’ll be able to have a friend group! She didn’t care how many she got, as long as there is at least one person who’ll be friends. She wanted to wear her usual style of clothes, but Helen explained that camouflage isn’t the best choice to wear at a public school and that she’ll help her get new clothes. Helen has been very kind to Emily like she's trying her best to help. Emily wasn't complaining, she's glad to have the help. Felix didn't really seem as excited as her about going to school. Whenever she asked what was wrong, he only says, "It's fine, no need to worry." But it obviously looks like there's a need to worry. But, even with Felix's worried mood, Emily will still try her best to be positive in school. _________________________________________ (Down below)
Next: Will definitely be out sooner than this was. Felix also seems a lot more mature now, he isn't as much of a fun-loving, worry-free fox anymore. He's, grown, and seemed very cautious of his surroundings. This past month, there have been only a few times when Helen would see the Felix she knew before, the one she raised. Only when Emily and Helen were around. But he just seems, worried, almost scared any other time. Emily on the other hand, she's an interesting person. Very mature at most times, very tough, and never really steps out of line. But when Emily's around Luisa or Felix, Helen can see inner glimpses of a playful child, yearning for fun. Emily avoids talking about her childhood, it almost seems like she never had one. Like all she did was train and learn. But there were a few times when she mentions a caretaker named Brooklyn, but never recent stories of her. Although, Emily seems really excited to go to school, and asked Helen for fashion tips. Emily insisted on wearing her usual camouflage, but that's not really the 'normal' clothing and they went to the nearby mall to get some her size. School is very close, and Helen really hopes that they can make it. ___________________________________________ (Stern) The time is coming near, nobody will expect a thing. (End) Writer's note: Big Old 2 5! Still lacking motivation to write, I know where I want the story to go, but I can't really get there. This series is over a year old now! I remember what it originally was going to be like, it was COMPLETELY different than what it became. I wanted a chapter about how everyone is viewing this stressful time. What is Stern planning? :o (JK, I already KNOW!) Please make TNs, I'm open for ANY, also, join the Fan-club! https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/33214598/
