Union was the third ship made by Central lines in 1932 but on the third voyage when shipping weapons to France in the Union sank with 1 torpedo taking the lives of 2099 people. Nazi Germany said “it was a test for the torpedoes” and they didn't mean to sink the Ship. but the U.K. did care if the U-Boats kept doing it. the U.K would declare war the following year on Germany, but the Germans were way ahead of the British and declared war on the U.K and it changed the lives of everyone in the U.K. at the time.
