Ahhhahahahahahhhhhhhahah help im a Floridian :rabies: (This could be triggering for some people, it talks about the transphobic laws being put in place) | Florida republicans have introduced a bill that could give the state’s courts the power to remove custody of trans youth from their parents or care givers if they receive gender affirming healthcare or even if they are ‘at risk’ of receiving it. The proposed legislation would allow Florida courts to take emergency jurisdiction over trans youth that receive gender affirming care. Including puberty blockers and hormone therapy. Additionally the bill will allow anti-trans family members to remove children from supportive environments if they believe the child is receiving gender affirming healthcare. The legislation has drawn sharp criticism from activists who have called if fascist and state sponsored kidnapping. Florida has seen a surge in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation including bills banning trans girls to play competitive sports and prohibiting gender affirming healthcare for trans youth as well as a law limiting discussion on LGBTQ+ topics in public schools. Okay listen up!! Texas just passed bill to de transition trans people and kids, and trans kids are not allowed hormonal therapy or care. SB-14 is a bill that was recently passed in Texas which means that gender affirming care and needs are banned for all who are under the age of 18. Family’s have said to flee the state in order to protect their transgender kids. Many protests where against this bill but unfortunately it was signed 5 days ago in the capital of Texas of this year. The worst part is, trans kids are expected to de transition in one year, being weened off the gender affirming care and treatment, which will k1ll transgender kids. They want to eradicate transgenders from history, but we need to stand up for what is right. Raise your flags! Spread awareness! Protect trans youth! Quick thing too, techno lived in Texas I’m pretty sure. He would not be proud of his state, fly high king <3 Lmao, and dream lives in Florida—
TW: the following could be triggering for younger audiences and mentions transphobic laws, and intention of s3lf h, please read with caution. And if you have any issues with what is written, please talk to me on my profile and I will change it, please don’t report or leave hate comments because of it I’m just trying to help raise awareness. Hiiiiii, yes I’m here to disclose my pain with the internet. Not smart especially not on a website for children but I’ll risk getting hate crimed for the hope that maybe that wont happen to people of the future. I am currently 15 years old and moved to the state of Florida about a year and a half ago. When we moved I didn’t particularly mind it, however my older brother who is also trans FTM warned me that Florida had some nasty anti-trans laws. That didn’t really scare me though because as long as I didn’t join sports, there was no chance a creepy sports coach could “investigate” wether or not I actually had… something. Anyways, in those past two years I stopped heavily hinting to my parents I was trans and instead flat out told them. My father remains to avoid referring to me with any gender while my mom has used my preferred pronouns for about a year. She has completely understood everything i tell her and has even been able to understand what I’m feeling with her own accounts. She has been really supportive but of course she’s had her own rough spots where she doubted me, or something of the sort. A few days ago I went to the doctor with my mom and my doctor is supper supportive, in fact we listened to him rant about not being able to talk to minors about gender anymore. That was when i found out that if it weren’t for these STUPID laws I would currently have hormone blockers. You know the harmless ones that literally have no point of being banned especially because their almost as much of a help to cisgender kids as transgender ones. Honestly, I hate the state i come from because I happen to come from Utah, the state that gave me MOUNTAINS of religious trauma, but if it meant getting away from Florida I’d move back in the blink of an eye. Utah isn’t far behind Florida, trying to pose the same laws Florida already has, but if you raise awareness, remix this project for yourself, YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO BE TRANS, all you have to be, is smart and kind. Save lives in all the future generations, let these lawmakers know that we will not stand for their killing of innocent lives. I cant tell you how many times I’ve almost ended my entire life, that frankly my emo ahh loves because of these freaking laws. RAISE. AWARENESS.
