Left Arrow - Steer Right Arrow - Nosedive Space - Bail out and fall straight down (it's pretty much pointless) Get as much distance as possible to get more tokens (really just points since you don't need to "pay" tokens to play this version). You can also land on the rectangular bonus panels for extra tokens, and a few can even multiply them. Beware of the circular panels; those will make you lose tokens.
Credit to Nintendo and Intelligent Systems for the sprites, textures, music, and general idea. High scores (ranked by furthest distance per user) 1. @BartTheSock - 576.07 distance, 56 tokens Version History v1.2 (6/2/24) - Further adjusted Mario's plane physics to be smoother and even more similar to the original. Decreased Mario's speed slightly, and also increased the length of the spaces in between the panels and distance markers to put the difficulty more or less on par with the original. Added a countdown timer and touched up the HUD for the distance traveled and tokens earned. v1.1 (5/31/24) - Adjusted Mario's plane physics to be somewhat more similar to the real version. Replaced Scratch's built-in counters for tokens earned and distance with custom counters. Fixed a few minor bugs. v1.0 (5/30/24) - Released the game. This project is essentially a remixed version of the Plane Game in the Pianta Parlor from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, except this one is a little bit easier. The graphics and music are based off of the GameCube version (except for Mario's "regular" sprites from the original Paper Mario on the Nintendo 64), and the physics and placement of the Pianta tokens and bonus panels are (mostly) based off of the Switch version. If you play well enough, you can easily pass the 500 distance mark. I have markers all the way to 1,000, and even a few multiplier panels (x2, x3, x5, and x8) past 700, 800, 900, and 1,000 respectively. Granted, the odds of getting to those panels are really slim, but with the perfect strategy, it might be possible. However, I figure you'd have to time your inputs perfectly (like down to the frame, every single time), so maybe not.
