!!!USE TURBO MODE!!! (Shift+Green Flag) Elevator: W to angle down, S to angle up. (Altitude) Ailerons: A to roll left, D to roll right. (Direction mid-air) Rudder: C to turn left, B to turn right. (General turning) Throttle: R to increase, F to decrease (Acceleration) Brakes: V to slow down (Not mid-air)
VERSION 2 IS OUT! (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/908812317/) I made this because I wanted a flight simulator and I don't have money. This one is fairly realistic, but there will be a better rerelease in the future. !!!THERE IS A HOW-TO-FLY TUTORIAL AND A TROUBLESHOOTING INDEX BELOW!!! HOW TO FLY A PLANE: ======================================== You should be reading this tutorial if you can't figure out how this works. I have flown this type of plane in real life before, so I am a credible source. The main force you will have to deal with, at least in this simulation, is lift. Holding 'S' will tilt you upwards, but won't make you take off immediately. You will have to be moving at a sufficient speed for anything to work at all, steering and all, and you need sufficient speed to generate enough lift to take off. It might take some practice before you get used to taking off before flying off the map. It might help to put your throttle in the negatives and back up to the end of the runway before charging forwards. Once you get in the air, wait until your altitude is over 20, because this will give you enough wiggle room to do whatever you want. Make sure not to fly too high, because then it will be difficult to land. Press 'W' to angle down and decrease your altitude. If your orientation is in the negatives, that means your plane's nose is pointing downwards. By now you should have mastered taking off and landing. (Don't worry if you are moving too quickly while landing, there is no crash detection yet.) To turn your aircraft, there are two methods. The first one is by using the rudder. This always works, but isn't very fast. The second method is by using your ailerons. This is much faster and easier but only works if you are in the air. Keep in mind you need to be actually moving to be able to turn. Make sure to turn up your throttle, but not so high as to make it uncontrollable. If you are moving too quickly, hold 'V' to brake. Be careful, because this won't slow you to a complete stop until you cut your throttle. Congratulations! You have mastered the basics of flying! Good luck, and have fun! TROUBLESHOOTING INDEX: ========================================= You should be reading this if something looks wrong. 1. Screen is completely gray, slow, or frozen. Make sure you are using turbo mode. There is a possibility that you are flying over concrete, which is also gray. Check your fps to make sure you aren't on concrete. 2. Screen is completely green. Your plane might not be on the minimap. This isn't a big problem, though. Just fly back on or hit the green flag to reset. Try pressing the spacebar, because that could reset the renderer. 3. Low fps This could be because you are either working on a really bad computer or aren't using turbo mode. My computer usually runs at at least 14 fps, but you can still have a good playing experience at even 4 fps. 4. If your problem wasn't mentioned, comment it, and I will try and help. Thank you!
