Verochka was like "Oh NoEs1!!1" and was able to hide in a sewer and feed off of sewer rats (and listen to sewersl-t), the war lasted fairly quickly and she was able to get out soon, she grew silly claws and got colorful splotches and a long tail as a result of radiation, and like the animals of Chernobyl she grew slightly immune to radiation, however she still has to wear a gas mask in some places.
