Reminder: LGBTQ+ isn’t a community only for gay/lesbian people. There are also nonbinary, genderqueer, gender fluid people, transgender, and other genders! Also, Asexuals/Aromantics and people on the ace/aro spectrum are part of the LGBTQ+ community as well. Don’t forget about them! The "+" also is not written out for the Straight Allies. The "+" is for people whose gender identity and/or sexuality isn't listed in the acronym. L = Lesbian. G = Gay. B = Bi. T = Transgender. Q = Queer. + = Any other gender or sexuality not listed. And another reminder is to not dismiss or invalidate any genders or sexualities that you do not understand or believe to be "non-existent". Most people do truly feel that they are what they identify as and invalidating/dismissing their identity just makes them feel worse than they probably already do. Think about it like this: It probably feels the same to them as it is to you when someone else invalidates/dismisses you.
