Instructions

This is a PO OC, a boio named Mietek. I have lore for the history of the PO, adopted for my worlds, but Scratch won't let me put the doc in, so you're getting the whole thing >:( Anyways: Poppet Omens are a species of Lesser Demon, although the exact origin is unknown. It is thought that they were created by an ancient Demon of Torment as its children, for the purpose of spreading isolated torture. All PO share a few aspects between each other, these being: solid color body that can have patterns on its chest, which can be any color (never more than three), generally animalistic faces, four arms, a poncho, an obsession with objects of variety, and a tail of any variety. These creatures have varying degrees of shapeshifting prestige. Technically, Poppet Omens can live forever unless they are killed or Bind themselves to a Bond. In the latter case, when the Bond dies, the PO will as well. Although genderless, they have since begun adapting pronouns to refer to them as (He/Him, She/Her, etc.). They also are capable of reproduction by merging with another PO and entering what is known as Deep Slumber. At the end of this, the two PO would separate and a new PO would emerge as well. As a rite of passage, a PO turned 10 would create its poncho, which it will wear until death. The Poppet Omens were kinda like house-elves from the Harry Potter series for a very long time. Demons could be in possession of as many as 80 or as little as 1, and all would serve their master. They were treated fairly well for slaves, going as far as allowing them to feast once every thousand years on a human subject’s torment. They would be permitted to Bind themselves to the human and would attack and harm the Bond until the end of the day, when the overseer removes the Bind and returns the creatures to their respective place. Every 100 years, the Demon King would host a giant feast for Demons ranking Minor to Greatest. Every PO would be brought along to service the feast and any special desire of the King. One year, the Poppet Omens gathered in the kitchen areas and all made a plan to bid for their freedom. They were unsure how to pull it off, so they agreed that they would gather again at the next feast to run for it. The Demon King has a vault, full of cursed and ancient treasures. Most are unknown to humanity, but one such treasure was the 500 gold coins of Midas. The coins, when gathered together, could grant almost any wish. Depending on the wish, a certain amount of coins would be “used,” vanishing away. The coins do eventually come back over time, but it takes several hundred years for one to reform. In the event that the coin count is reduced, be it through wishing or complete destruction, the coins will still function for wishing without the missing coins. Two of the Demon King’s servants birthed a third into the Underworlds, who they named Mietek. The youthful PO had been 124 when he overheard the plot to escape from the Demon rule. Mietek’s imaginative mind came up with a solution. Due to his smaller size (which was actually just an illusion, Mietek was incredibly dense), he was a very efficient cleaner in the treasury. As a result, he had taken note of the treasures within. When the PO gathered once again in the kitchens to plot, Mietek came running into the crowd and announced that he had made off with the 500. The PO all left the palace in haste and Mietek wished for an escape from Demons. Forever. The 500 gold coins were laid on the ground in a circle, where they formed a rift out of the Underworlds. One by one, the Poppet Omens began jumping through. The Demons had realized the lack of service at the feast and noticed the PO escaping! Mietek was the last to jump through, the coins following their current master. The PO would then be scattered across the Overworlds, never to be seen by Demons again. Much to the dismay of Mietek, 19 coins had been used to send away the nearly-450,000 Poppet Omens. The coins additionally had left the PO specially marked; they would not be able to be returned to the Underworlds, be it through banishment or being sold to a summoned Demon. The Demons were furious at the loss of such useful servants. Not one PO remained in the Underworlds. The Demons ultimately blamed Galrogg, the Demon King. He was usurped by the rest of the Demons and tossed into Deepworld. A new King was appointed, but nothing could be done about the escapade. Free for the first time in eternity, the PO now stay hidden most of the time. It is rather uncommon to see one, but everyone is terrified of them. Noone wants to end up as a Bond to a PO, so they try to avoid PO as much as possible. Not many PO know who actually freed them, or how, but every last one is eternally grateful.
