Name: Hari Gangadharan Project category: 18 and older (Scratch School), applying in older age category as allowed under rule 6.2 and 6.3.10 a) Project name: The Scratch School of Rubik My project includes an interactive game activity at the end. The game has a ‘How to Play’ button which provides instructions on playing the game. The objective of the game changes once the player solves the problem and is displayed on the right hand corner of the screen. I am also including the instructions to play the game here: 1. Look at the top right of the screen for your objective. 2. Use the arrows to navigate the cube and reach the objective. 3. You can use the END GAME button to end the game at any time.
The ‘Scratch School of Rubik’ is an original idea, story and project. I have used advanced animation and coding in the project, for example use of nested loops and advanced variables (as seen in the game). The project also uses the principles of animation such as squash and slow in and slow out. The aim of the project is to create an educational resource to learn about the history of Rubik’s cube along with a discussion on Rubik’s engineering, physics and math. My project includes an interactive game activity at the end. The game has a ‘How to Play’ button which provides instructions on how to play the game. The objective of the game changes once the player solves the problem and is displayed on the right hand corner of the screen. I have researched and read many articles on the subject to understand it in more detail. Thank you for watching and listening to my project. I hope you had as much fun as I had creating it! Credits: I have designed all the sprites and backgrounds on my own except for one background (neon tunnel used as a background in the game) from the free Scratch resources. The imported sound clips are from paid subscription of productioncrate. I have written and voiced the story. Thank you once again.
