Wow... Is it just me or is improvement really satisfying to watch? (note: the 2023 drawing isn't really my art style, i was trying to convey both my art style and the 2022 one) 2022: some basic shading inaccurate proportions stiff pose odd placement unnatural expressions mostly straight lines no defined artstyle 2023: Advanced Shading (lighting, blending, shadows) better proportions more movement in pose better placement more expressive expressions more experimenting with lines (hair actually looks like hair; ex: isn't flat, has strands here and there) and most importantly: a truly developed art style that i am VERY satisfied with Music: Pacific Paradise - Ampy https://www.youtube.com/watchv=8yiA3LKULHo
Some tips: depending on the style you want to convey, use thicker lines. For example I use Ibis Paint x and previously i would always set the size to 0.3. Now i always set it to 0.9. obviously, shading. this is something you have to learn to do. Some tips are to focus on where the light source is (ex: if the sun is on the right, you shouldn't have shadows on the right side. Same goes for shadows: if you have shadow on the left, there shouldn't be light on the left.) Don't be afraid to use a reference. This will really help you out with pose and proportion in the early stages. a tip for developing your art style: explore others art style, and experiment with them. after a bit you'll notice your own uniqe style emerging. Some platforms i recommend for seeing others art styles : 1.Pinterest. This really is the best one. 2. 3. Pixiv. https://www.pixiv.net/en/ this is another good one although you'll mainly find anime here (opposite of tumblr) 4.Tumblr. I haven't had much experience with this one so i cant provide an opinion, although i think you'll mainly find realism here 5.Deviantart. I dont like this one as it can be really 18+ but a lot of ppl do so each to their own ig
