swc july 2023 camper signups: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/843084712 .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. hey there! if you're wondering what this is about, allow me to introduce scratch writing camp, or swc for short. whether you're someone who writes creatively for a hobby, plans on pursuing it as a career, or is interested but hasn't the first idea on where to start: this is the place for you! swc is like a melting pot of all sorts of people, energies, and ideas, all with one thing in common: a passion for the beauty of words. each session of swc is a month long, and takes place three times a year: march, july, and november! during session, all sorts of fun activities occur through the month, and you can partake in whatever suits your fancy. some examples range from: ⌲ daily activities to inspire your creativity (like creating character collages or writing short stories based on google-translated lyrics) ⌲ in-depth exploration activities (such learning the step-by-step elements of writing your own fanfiction!) ⌲ encouragement for working towards personal writing goals, whatever they may be ⌲ mini-games and activities personalized to each cabin (solving puzzles, fighting off an alien invasion, and more!) ⌲ a variety of atmospheres - competitive. chill, or something in between, there's certainly a place for you <3 additionally, swc organizes its campers through cabins labeled by genre - though you're not limited to writing in only that genre. you could be in the fantasy cabin, and be writing a sci-fi story! every cabin has it's own unique theme and carries its own set of activities, ranging from matching profile pictures, cabin bonding activities, and countless other things. cabinmates are one of the many ways to make friends within swc - though you'll likely find yourself interacting with people from all sorts of cabins! ¨*:⁎..༺ ༻..⁎:*¨ now for me, personally - i've been a part of swc for two years now. i've aspired to pursue writing as a career since quarantine, and this camp has grown to mean so much to me over my stay. it's not exactly something that's easy to put into words, which is pretty ironic for a camp dedicated towards writing - but there's such a special feeling about this community. beyond growing my writing skillset, i've found so many friends here that i talk to every day, and swc has found many ways to teach me all sorts of things - both about writing and the real world! i plan to hang around for a long time - but even when my time here is over, i'm never going to forget all the people i've met and all the things i've learned here. swc is something that sticks with you, even once it's over - the memories you make here last you a lifetime <33 .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. on a side note, i'm leading one of the cabins this session - the drawing above is of myself and my two incredible co-leaders, indigo and val! if you do sign up, we would love to have you in fantasy :) the camper signups for the july 2023 swc are linked at the top! if you're seeing this at a later time - feel free to reach out to me on my profile, and i can probably link you the current set of signups. that's all - i hope to see you in swc! hopefully we'll get to make some memories together <3 ¨*:⁎..༺ ༻..⁎:*¨ ⌲ music - cover arrangement of the avatar: the last airbender theme :3 ⌲ art by myself (), with a template from google ⌲ indigo () and val () for being insanely epic cos ⌲ everyone who has contributed to the makings of swc over the past seven years: ⌲ and swc for existing - thank you so much for all you've given me <33
