before i get right into this, lets start with a quick timeline of twices cb promotions + releases from jan 2023 - now, june 2023. jan 3 2023, - moonlight sunrise was announced and concept photos were posted jan 17 2023 - teaser was released jan 20 2023 - moonlight sunrise was released. feb 3 2023 - set me free/ready 2 be album was announced march 3 2023 - highlight melody was released march 5 2023 - set me free mv was released march 10 2023 - set me free was released april 2023 - hare hare announcement/promotion started may 12 2023 - hare hare was released may 29 2023 - first mv teaser was released may 31 2023 - full album was released as you can see, twice has already had a very hectic schedule during the 1st half of 2023. they’ve had 2 japanese songs released, 2 english songs released, along with a mini album. i know this doesn’t sound like a lot, but we also have to take the future into consideration. according to wikipedia, twice will also perform hare hare in osaka to promote it in october as well as have a world tour to promote ready to be and has already started (april 15 2023) but there’s a lot more to it. lets go over current subunits of twice which are only two, misamo and dubchaeng. since misamo has debuted, they’ve only released one song and that is bouquet. dubchaeng has only released switch to me i believe, which means we can assume that they will both have comebacks sometime in summer 2023, late 2023, or the start of 2024. we also have nayeon and her solo career. pop! was a huge success, so she’ll probably have a comeback sometime in the summer. this leaves us with jihyo, jeongyeon, and tzuyu. there are a couple of things that i think that could happen which are: 1. jihyo has a solo career and jeongyeon and tzuyu become a subunit. jihyo is already really successful and onces are highly anticipating her solo career already. jeongyeon and tzuyu may become a subunit and debut in the start of 2023 or mid 2024. 2. they all become a subunit. 3. nothing will happen until mid 2024 the reason i think this is because jyp himself cant release all of these all at once. at this rate, i feel like nayeon will have a comeback in the summer (sometime july, maybe august?), twice as a whole might release more music sometime in august/september, misamo will release music in late late 2023 (nov/dec), and dubchaeng will release something in the start of 2024. something related to jihyo/jeongyeon/tzuyu will probably be announced in feb - april, and they might have an actual release or something in mid 2024. so, is twice being overworked? in my opinion, no, we’ll have to wait it out to see what happens, but you can already tell that some of the members are kinda done with it. when you look at nayeon in videos promoting hare hare, you can see that shes reallyyyy not having it. she doesn’t smile and she does not look happy at all, the poor thing looks really tired. and i feel like twice is just announcing new stuff every day, and this may be because of the start of 5th gen. twice is one of jyps most successful grps, so i can understand why he would think that people might forget about them and start thinking about other groups that already have had a really big effect, like boy next door, newjeans, ive, fifty fifty, le sserafim, zb1, etc. we cant assume that theyre being overworked right now, time will tell. also! if anything seemed wrong here or just wasn’t the right word to use in general pleaseeee let me know i cant stress this enough aaahh
