Well guys, you wouldn't believe who finally got this in. Currently writing this while being a few minutes late to multiple things, I've decided to miraculously have the motivation to do this now, mostly because I'm not able to do game development at the moment, for obvious reasons. -Table of Contents- 1. Extras - What's a DTIYS/DMC, and why did you make it so confusing?? - A DTIYS, or Draw This In Your Style, is when you're given a scene with a character (most of the time) and you're tasked to loosely redraw it how you would draw it. In your style, of course, hence the name. A DMC, or Draw My Character, is when you're tasked with drawing someone's character (obvious i know) it can include guidelines like a pose, colour scheme, or whatever, but I'm not picky so they won't be involved. In this contest, or whatever it should be called because who knows, you will be drawing your character with Xacian (the scrungly depicted here) which is kind of like an inverse YCH or something, I dunno, go ask your mother. I'll try to explain it better in the rules/how to join. - How to Join - As per most contests, remix this project and add your art/entry. If you do not remix, your entry will not be counted. Otherwise I have to keep an individual list that I will have to check when I'm deciding the results. The contest will end on July 1, roughly a month from now. There will be NO extensions, because i'm impatient as heck, and also because dude you had a WHOLE MONTH- Subsection- Prizes: To incentivise all of you to join, I am, of course, adding prizes. Is this a good idea for when I need to do the prizes? No! Do I care? No. They'll get done eventually, I'm sure. First place- One fullbody, and two customs Second place- One halfbody, one custom Third place- One bust, and a doodle Will there even be enough people to fulfil all of these expectations? Well, probably not, you know how it is with whatever I host *coughs and laughs nervously* But there's probably enough of you that know how to draw vaguely humanoid things, right? Right?? - Rules - As per any contest, there are of course, rules, most of them are basic decency, but some of them are a little more picky because my character is pretty specific. Sorry in advance if this rules out something you had in mind. -Please do not use picrews, free sprites, bases, etc. when making your entry. While i'm sure it's easier, it's not what i'm looking for, no matter how high quality the base/picrew may be. I much prefer your own, original art than something that you tweaked just to fit the minimum. -Please do not trace my art to draw Xacian, I will 100% be able to tell if you traced my art. Literally nobody else fudges up anatomy like me, and honestly, just use it as a reference. It's less work than just making a small thing. For me, at least. Tracing anatomy is harder than just doing it. -Do NOT draw shipping art between your character and Xacian. Unless it's one, funny and two, a joke. Please keep in mind that he's never been in a proper relationship before, and isn't planning on one. Also he'd probably be a bad SO, and do you /really/ want your character to like this guy, of all guys? Really? You probably need a step stool to even consider giving him a little kisskiss -No not sfw content. While i'd just love to see- *cough cough* okay just don't. It's not safe for scratch. -You cannot draw Xacian as a different species than he is. He is only vaguely humanoid, and in any case could definitely look more like a sad cat than anything. But he cannot be quadrupedal, he has to be bipedal and at least half human. -Please, please please do not draw Xacian genderbend. It may seem weird, but honestly, I'm just tired of people thinking he's a lady?? for some reason??? He's a guy, and always has been, since he was designed. His hair just got longer and he got a little more malewife, I guess. -If you're drawing Xacian when his face isn't completely blanked out (the more doodly half of the ""character sheet"" i made) please keep in mind that he's a very neutral person, and the last time I, the person who literally MADE him, saw him smile was like... a year ago. He's just. Looking at you. Maybe he'll look a little mad. Also if you can't find his skintone just look harder. It's on his main design and he literally has a booboo window. I'd add a few more if I knew I wasn't reaching the measly character limit. Just don't suck. - Background - It says background but this is basically just an overview so that you don't draw Xacian /super/ ooc. Yes, he's tall as heck. Yes, he has hit his head on doorways before. As mentioned before, he's a very neutral person. Also he is only mildly emotionally suppressed, but it's normal eldest child things. Trust me. I'm an eldest child. But he's mostly unbothered by 99% of things. Even when he's /really mad/ he's honestly pretty (and alarmingly) calm.
