Today, Cloe rode Samantha. We mainly worked on barrel racing. Here is how her lesson went: I had her trot first, as a warmup and for Cloe to learn how Samantha is, and examined her form. Perfect posture and stayed on the correct diagonal the whole time. After a warm up, it was on to the barrels. She asked for the canter, Samantha has a very uphill canter, so its pretty easy to ride. she went around the first barrel with no flaw, but on the second barrel Samantha slowed to a trot. My bet was that it was because Cloe wasn't yet confident enough with Samantha, so we to a little break and had Cloe canter around the arena a few times to let her get used to Samantha. After a few minutes we resumed barrel racing. This time she ran all the barrels with great speed and accuracy. The lesson went great after that, no refusals! Id say Cloe improved a lot and this lesson was a success!
