About: He's based on a budgie named Skittle my friend used to have, unfortunately he died due to a deformity in his right wing, I showed my friend @InkoKeet's drawings and she loved them! She asked if I could draw Skittle in that style and I said sure so here I am with a new oc in honor of my friend and her bird Skittle, I'm thinking on making this my cartoon style, thanks @InkoKeet for making my friend's day!
Backstory: Skittle was once a brave and adventurous budgie who loved to explore the world. One day, while flying through a dense forest, Skittle heard faint cries for help. Following the sound, Skittle came across a group of budgies who were trapped in breeding cages. Without hesitation, Skittle sprang into action. Skittle used his beak to pry open the cages and free the trapped budgies. Skittle worked tirelessly, determined to save his fellow birds. Finally, after many long hours, all of the budgies were free. They were overjoyed and grateful to Skittle for saving them. However, Skittle had been injured in the process. Skittle’s right wing had been hurt while opening the cages, and he could no longer fly. The grateful budgies took Skittle in and cared for him. They tended to Skittle’s wounds and wrapped a bandage around his injured wing. As Skittle healed, the budgies told stories of Skittle’s bravery and selflessness. One day, as Skittle was resting, a beautiful light appeared above his head. It grew brighter and brighter until it formed into a shining halo. The halo was a symbol of Skittle’s pure heart and heroic deeds. The budgies wanted to do something special to honor Skittle’s bravery. They decided to make a special bandana for Skittle to wear. They chose the color red to represent courage and strength. On the bandana, they embroidered the letter S - for Skittle - as a symbol of their gratitude. From that day on, Skittle wore the red bandana with pride. The bandage on his wing served as a reminder of the day when Skittle risked everything to save others. And even though Skittle could no longer fly, he was content knowing that they had made a difference in the world! Thx ^^
