BIOGRAPHY < Name > (The) Warden < Age > unknown < Gender > male (they/him) < Power > the Keeper of Time < Other > Warden is a solitary being, occupying the Little Woods. They are nocturnal, with searing blue eyes for night vision. Though they can be harsh at times, the Warden is secretly a marshmallow and is very protective of their loved ones. He eats very little, usually grazing on small clover leaves found scattered in the Little Woods. III. BACKSTORY Time is a funny thing, and a seemingly endless thought in the forest. It was as if blackened claws gripped the clock, turning the hands at a desired time. Sometimes, you could look up at the sunshine, blink, and night would have mysteriously fallen. But now, in the storm, a small clearing is occupied with a creature. It radiates a blue coldness like none other; when you went close to it, an emptiness as deep as a black hole engulfed you, entangling you with thorns of ice. A crackle of thunder strikes. The creature, known as the Warden, shudders as they gaze across the forest with cobalt-blue eyes. Through the hard rain, the Warden's thoughts are scattered like an unfinished puzzle. Memories were emerging that they had kept in the back of their mind for their whole life; even as the Keeper of Time, time must still go on. /Flash./ A memory of them running and playing with their mother. /Flash./ A memory of when it was Warden's third birthday, when they blew out the candles and opened presents. /Flash./ A memory of their mother, playing with them in the snow and building a snowman. /Flash./ No, no, not again. He couldn't be pulled back into the past. /Flash./ /Flash./ "WARDEN!" There was a large rustle of leaves as a huge figure grabbed me in a steely grip. "What were you thinking, running away like that? You're still five! I could have lost you." Mother looked at me with a pale expression, huffing and puffing. "I saw a bird," I murmured, fiddling with the grass. "Stop making excuses," she growled. "Come on, we're going home." With that, Mother kept her grip on me and led me back home. She didn't speak a word to me throughout the walk back. When we arrived, the warm scent of apple pies drifted around the house. My house wasn't very big, but had three bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. Each bedroom could fit around two or three of me, which wasn't very big; but it was enough for two dragons. Mother went immediately to the kitchen, checking on the apple pie. I traced her footsteps. "Can I try some?" I asked, my stomach growling on cue. "It's too hard. You need to know what happened," Mother said. I scrunched up my nose. "Did you forget to peel the apples again?" "No, no, not about the apple pie. About at the forest." She locked her eyes mine. "Before you were born -- fifteen odd years ago -- I had a different child. He was called Seer. We lived just the two of us, like you and me now. We baked cookies together, went out in the snow, sang bedtime songs to each other. But then, one day, he was gone." "What... what happened to him?" Mother hesitated for a moment before continuing. "The day was a glorious day, so me and Seer decided to go for a walk. The forest was overgrown then, and it was hard to see through the thick leaves. When I was momentarily interested in smelling a leaf, I asked Seer if he wanted to try to smell it. I got no reply. I looked back and he was gone. "Then, I was frantic. I searched the house, I tore up the whole forest; and when I did find him, I was horrified. He sat delicately on a stone, eyes white and empty. In his hands was a clock, like a crystal ball, levitating. He spoke in a voice that made me shudder. "You found me, Mother." He smiled, crooked and unfinished. "You see, time is a funny thing. The time it took to find me; I could lengthen it to a decade, if I wished. I could make it night right now. I hold the power of the Keeper of Time. You see?" I was, of course, terrified of what Seer had become. "A keeper of time?" I growled. "How foolish." "/Foolish?/ Mother, you do not understand the weight of this power. I can control the time -- I can control everything that happens within this forest. I could control when our little sweet biscuits were ready; I could make them burn and the house could explode in flames. /Does that seem foolish to you?/" (+)
(+) My throat was dry. I couldn't speak. He continued speaking, now pacing around me. "I can do all this, Mother, do you see? Power, in these very claws," he snarled, unsheathing his claws. I took a trembling step back, but he came closer. "Seer, this isn't the you I remember. What about the days we enjoyed together?" He just laughed cruelly. "Those days are gone. Time passes, Mother. Dragons change. /I/ changed." I didn't know what to do. I couldn't face having a demon as my son, who wouldn't care less if I d!3d. And so I ran for my life. I was always faster than him, but when he was a child I slowed down at a pace where he could catch me. Now, he was relentless. But I somehow found myself away from him, safe." Mother returned to the present, her eyes cloudy as she blinked vigorously. "Warden, do you know the power Seer had?" she asked. "The Keeper of Time?" I nodded silently. "It's a power that runs in the bIood of our family. Which means..." "I have it too?" I said quietly. She nodded. When I started to sob, she squeezed my hand and lifted my chin. "It's not all bad, Warden. If you use it for good, you can be the Warden of the Little Woods. Alright, my dear?" she nudged me with her snout. I nodded. /Flash./ The Warden was lurches back into the present. The rain had subsided, and the sun has risen. His Mother had disappeared mysteriously twenty years ago, when he was eight -- three years after the memory, still vivid. But now they have a friend, Otis, and a forest of wonders and happiness. Time truly is a funny thing. - end - the story still has more lol,, after this it goes into Warden defeating his brother (who was still alive all this time) and regaining peaceful control of the forest (plus finding their soulmate, Otis, of course <3) if i do win this character, i'll build more onto the plot and write a story :D IV.
