I included a closeup and fullbody :) Fullscreen might be best to see the details. ============ ↓ Art process below ↓ ============ #1: First sketch idea, but I decided the pose was too static #2: The sketch I ended up using for the final. I added a cap because I felt like the character could be related to a fighting unit with her powers #3: Turning sketch transparent and blocking out colors on the layer beneath (I added a cap and made some alterations to the outfit.) #4: Working on the face and spending far too long doing so #5: Worked on hair and defining arms a little with airbrush and watercolor brushes #6: Started working on the hands and legs, defined hair and clothes, made skirt more flowy to resemble an open flower's petals #7: Airbrush lighting and adding details (clasps, buttons) to clothes with pen. I added a flower insignia to the cap to match her power. #8: Worked on background (pen and textured cloud brush). Since I felt like the outfit looked military-related, I did a rocky background with barbed wire fences to resemble a battlefield. I also added lighting and special effects (done with glow dodge blend mode), and made the skirt more cloudlike for dynamism : Added chromatic aberration (slight glitch effect) through color level correction, then lightened the drawing a little and added some shading to skirt. Notes: DMCE stands for Draw My Character Contest Entry. I decided to go with a battlefield theme because she had explosive bombs with manipulation powers, which I thought was suited for fighting :) Perhaps she could be a high ranking military official or a commander? Brushes Used: Dense and Opaque Watercolor, Flat Marker, Airbrush, Droplet Brush, Rake Brush, Custom Brushes (Textured pen, pastel)
