She was alone and nearly starved for many days until a lone female can along and fed her until she could leave on her own. The female had her for one moon when a bobcat decided that once the female left to hunt, it would feed on the small pup. The female left, and the minute the pup cried in anguish, she ran back and fought ruthlessly against the bobcat, nearly risking her own life for the small pup. When the pup seemed of age, she knew it was time. When she was about to leave, she thought of how she had trained the pup, just in case. The pup would lightly land the first move, then rain down fury when she was surprised. As she walked away from the pup, the pup knowing she had to leave, a lightning bolt ran across the sky and landed. Quickly after, the thunder rang with fury. She turned her head over her shoulder and said, “Goodbye Thunder.” The pups tail waged for she had finally gotten a name. She was big for her age. She was strong and wise enough to defend herself. She grew to love the pine forest that was so hostile. She learned to use the area around her to heighten her swiftness. And, she got respect from the other wolves in the forest.
