This NinjaGo Theory will discuss the possibilty of the Overlord being alive. As you know, the Overlord was defeated by Lloyd during the Final Battle. However, he came back through the Digiverse, absorbed Lloyd's Golden Powers, and became the Golden Master. Zane took in the Overlord's power to destroy him, but at the cost of his own life. Fans have speculated the Overlord could be alive again. Some people hate the Overlord, but others want him to return. The first things fans would do to prove he was alive would be saying, "he can return into the Digiverse again!" However, the people have decreased their reliability on tech, and probably put anti-virus softwares if he did come back. However, according to Lloyd and Cyrus Borg, the Golden Armor had never been found. But, who said it still existed; Zane defeated the Overlord, and it was believed his armor was also destroyed. Now, if the Golden Armor still existed, many people will think that doesn't mean the Overlord is alive. But, when Zane sacrificed himself, he absorbed the Overlord's powers. Therefore, if the Golden Armor still existed, it would have to be powered by the Golden Weapons. Thus, meaning Zane could've sacrificed himself for nothing, and the Overlord was still alive. Another theory is when Zane died, the Overlord's helmet came flying, indicating he was gone. Again, the Overlord's entire armor and himself was powered by Golden Power, meaning that the helmet was powered by Golden Power, meaning the Overlord could be alive. Another theory is if that's how he survived, he could be kept hidden by someone on the ninja's side. Maybe one of the ninja, Wu, PIXAL, Cyrus Borg, or another friend of the ninja could be a spy for the Overlord, and is helping the ninja to get the other villains out of the way to have the Overlord rule again. Or, the Overlord's spirit could've gone to the Cursed Realm if he perished during Zane's death, meaning he could come back.
