(Cover Still In Progress) Author: @Tricolover1 (Story Below) Chapter One A red rush of scales flew through the trees, leaves skimming her scales. The dragon gently landed, she curled her large wings to her sides. She had dark, forest green eyes. She sniffed the air, then her scales shifted to a dark green and brown. She stalked through the forest, keeping low to the ground. She soon arrived at the center of the forest. There, another dragon stood, its scales were a pale blue. The green and brown dragon sprung from the bushes and tackled the blue dragon. “Gotcha!” she cried triumphantly, her scales shifted back to red with her yellow underbelly. “Nice one, Mossara!” the blue dragon chuckled, looking up at her with his dark blue eyes. The red dragon grinned. “Thanks, Arcturus.” Mossara said, letting the blue dragon stand, he was much taller than her. The blue dragon looked up to the sky. “Nice training session, see you tomorrow?” Arcturus asked. “Already? The day has only started!” Mossara complained. “I have a few things to take care of. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.” Arcturus’ scales shifted to green and he took to the sky, the trees waved as his wings pushed the air. Soon, he disappeared from view. Mossara frowned. She dug her claws into the ground below her and sighed, looking at her wings as they shifted between colours. Eventually they settled on red again. Mossara looked at the tall trees, they seemed to pierce the sky itself. Mossara dug her claws into a tree and she began to climb it. Then she jumped between different trees. Soon she reached the village. The village had hundreds of dragons walking, flying and even climbing around. They all had places to be, someone to talk to. Except for Mossara. She was alone. Her parents went missing when she was a hatchling, the only family she had was Arcturus, but he was always busy. Although they were family, they didn’t live together. Mossara lived in one of the tallest trees all alone. Mossara looked back to the village. Dragons were walking along the bridges that connected all the trees together. Mossara was always told the village was the only place for her kind - the Forest Dragons. But what if she was never meant to stay here? She knew Arcturus would be heartbroken if she left. But what if her purpose - her destiny - was out there? Mossara shook the thought. That would be crazy. She told herself. Mossara turned away from the village and she walked down a dirt path. Her long tail dragged behind her. She placed one talon on a tree and she gripped it tightly, she ripped a piece of red bark off and ate it. She looked up towards her small horns, they hadn’t finished growing yet. They were only the length of two of her claws stacked on top of each other. Mossara ripped off more bark and ate it. The bark crunched as her teeth chomped and chewed it. She swallowed it and opened her wings. She flew to the top of a nearby tree which had a hole in it, which was also her home. Mossara surprisingly fit inside it although she was bigger than the hole. She curled into a ball and stared out at the forest. She always felt like she didn’t fit in, but she was feeling this way a lot more often now. What was her destiny? Where was it? She was taught of the dangers outside the forest, the other dragon clans waiting to strike. But it always seemed hard to believe. Why would dragons want to hurt each other? Mossara stood, her spines on her back hit the top of the hole. She quickly leaped out and she spread her wings, they beat the air hard as she flew up towards the sky. She always felt free when she flew higher. The wind brushed against her scales. She stopped flying higher and she looked down at the village, it was hidden away from the rest of the world. Mossara went silent as she heard wing beats drawing closer. I thought I was the only one who flew up this high. She thought. She gasped when she saw two red dragons fly past. “Hey! You two-” she was cut off by a talon as it grasped her snout. The talon belonged to a green dragon. Mossara was dragged down to the forest floor. “Get off me!” she thrashed her wings and talons violently. “Calm down, I am not here to hurt you.” a deep voice said, releasing her. Mossara turned to look at another Forest Dragon. “What was that for!” cried Mossara. “You almost led those Sky Dragons right to us!” the dragon cried. “Wait, those were… Sky Dragons? They looked like… Like me…” Mossara looked down at her talons. “Stay low to the ground, and stay with other dragons.” the dragon turned to walk away. “Of your own kind…” he added, flying away. Mossara wasn’t sure what to do now… Sky Dragons were close… but they looked just like her… most Forest Dragons had green or brown scales. Arcturus was an exception as he was different, like her. As far as she was told. What if… I am a Sky Dragon? But… How would that be possible? I can camouflage myself like a Forest Dragon… Maybe I am going crazy…
