The why films of the Titanic before the 1997 film had the Titanic go down in one piece like the 1958 film "A night to remember" was because half of the survivors of the Titanic claimed that they saw it go down in one piece, but the other half said they saw that ship break in half. But the reason this happened was because from a far you could just barely see the ship break in half but if you were up closer to the ship, you could barely see anything, it was just pitch black, and it was a moonless night. But when they found the Titanic wreck during the 80's, they saw it was in half so thanks to modern day technology, we now know how the Titanic sank
