Luna grabbed Snowball by the scruff of her neck and carried her to Tokyo. Tokyo was the leader of the nightmare clan. They may not be happy about this… Luna thought. She hadn’t intended to have a daughter. She knew the clan was already full, and they already had enough mouths to feed. It was an accident, but an accident is still an action. Snowball had been born. The tricky part was explaining it to Tokyo. Tokyo was sitting at her desk, sorting papers. When she saw Luna’s kitten she dropped all her paperwork and stared at Snowball. “You had a kitten I see…” Tokyo sighed. “I thought we had talked about this, you IDIOT!” They snarled at Luna. Luna’s fur bristled. She hated when Tokyo raised their voice at her “ X-an. Take these filthy rats away. I don't need extra mouths to feed around here.” Tokyo snarled at her guard. X-an was a green panda, and one of Luna's best friends. X-an nodded reluctantly and quickly shoved Luna and Snowball into a small wire cage and threw them into the back of a van. It had all happened so quickly. Before she knew it. X-an was unloading Luna and Snowball into a forest. X-an unlocked the cage and dumped them out into the crunchy snow. “I’m sorry…I wish there was a way to convince Tokyo to keep you.” X-an sighed and drove away, leaving them in the icy wind. After the van disappeared into the horizon, Snowball began to whine and paw at the snow. “How will we get food now???” Snowball cried .Luna smiled weakly “When there's a will there's a way” Luna squinted her eyes at the setting sun. “Well look, I’ll see if i can find some food.” Luna then pointed to a cave nearby. “Wait in there okay Snowball? There might be a storm coming.” Luna meowed and looked up at the gray sky. She leaped into the foggy trees and disappeared. Snowball padded into the cave curled her tail around herself, trying to keep warm. She sat there for what seemed like hours, until a large snowflake floated by. Snowball leaped up to grab it. She chased it around the cave until a huge paw lashed out and grabbed Snowball's collar. She screamed and tried to break free but the paw held tightly. A large cat had pinned her to the cold cave floor! It bared its teeth and sank them deep into her stomach and ripped the skin clean off. The cat began to gulp down what was inside. Blood pooled around Snowballs remains. The large cat shook the blood off its fur and ran off. Snowball was dead.
Luna came back carrying two mice and a fish. Luna spotted the red snow and gasped. She dropped all her prey and rushed over. Snowball was sprawled out on the cave floor, her ribs exposed to the outside. A huge puddle of blood surrounded her. Tears formed in Luna's eyes as she put a paw on Snowball. She screeched into the setting sky. Why did this have to happen to me? Luna wondered. She began to dig a hole next to the cave. Luna picked Snowball up by the bloody collar and put her in it. She grabbed nearby orchids and placed them in Snowball's grave, immediately filling the hole in. Luna couldn’t bear to look at the snowball any longer. She walked into the cave and crumpled to the floor. She stood by a pile of leaves. Snowball was buried here. She heard a rustling sound in the bushes nearby, she whipped around and was face to face with Snowball. “S-SNOWBALL!” She gasped. Snowball smiled at her but said nothing. Luna moved closer to Snowball and reached over to touch noses with her. As soon as Luna made contact with Snowball, ice encased her nose. Luna's eyes narrowed and she exhaled a mist. She wiped the ice off her nose and stared at Snowball in fear. Snowball started slowly walking towards Luna, with each step the ground turned to ice under her paw. Luna backed up against a tree, breathing heavily. She broke into a run, Snowball followed her and giggled “ Why are you running mommy? It's only me!” She said and made a toothy grin. Snow caked her eyes, nose and whiskers, she breathed out misty cold air. Luna slipped on icy leaves and face-planted into the dirt. Snowball just kept on walking, she started shaking and her snow white pelt began to turn black. Her blue eyes slowly turned white and appeared to be spinning. Luna screamed and ran faster, but slowed when she saw what was ahead. A pile of cat bones sat at the edge of the cliff. The skull stared at her emptily. These were Snowball's bones. She hugged them to her chest and began to cry. Snowball continued to walk towards Luna, her speed increasing. Luna gasped and scrambled to look for a place to escape. Snowball smiled and cornered her to the edge of the cliff. She giggled and growled. Luna screeched and tripped over the edge, she barely just grabbed the edge of the cliff before she fell. Snowball stared down at her and smiled again. Luna looked up at Snowball in fear. “Please…help me!” she croaked, Snowball slammed a paw down onto Luna, she dug her claws in and ripped Luna’s paw clean off. Blood coated everything. She looked into Luna's eyes and laughed as Luna fell. She watched Luna fall and fall, until she disappeared below the mist. Luna woke up breathing heavily. What a horrible dream! She thought.
