hiii welcome to a training guide!! Since I wont be able to consistently rp out every moon of training, there's no real point to spelling out everything Cosmospaw will be learning moon-by-moon haha ^^" if you still want an idea of that, you can look here at the plan for one of Veilglimpse's previous apprentices ( https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/760752345/ ), but keep in mind that it isn't entirely accurate seeing as Veilglimpse's training style & overall attitude has changed somewhat. TRAINING STYLE: Veilglimpse has always been a pretty strict mentor, but after their exile from ShadowClan, they will be even less lenient. It was losing a battle to Successionamber (and almost dying in the process) which lead to the collective exile of themself, Petrelgild, and Oakencreed- and they cling to the idea that, if they had just been a bit more skilled, they could've changed the outcome of that battle. Because of this, they will be quite hard on Cosmospaw, especially during battle training, hoping that Cosmospaw will not fail where they did. Speaking of which, Veilglimpse will put a lot more focus on battle training than on hunting. (( this may lead to Cosmospaw being better at fighting than hunting. Or maybe it will cause them to grow tired of battle training? Or neither? idk! )) They are convinced that some kind of conflict will (or should) eventually arise with Miragestar in ShadowClan, and will want their apprentice trained accordingly. Throughout training, Veilglimpse will try to impress on Cosmospaw the importance of his heritage. Cosmospaw is the child of two respected ShadowClan warriors, and is just as ShadowClan as he is ThunderClan. Veilglimpse will stress that ShadowClan leadership is detestable, but the Clan itself has endured poor leadership in the past and that it should be an immense source of pride for Cosmospaw to call ShadowClan their heritage. (( feel free for this to be a source of tension between veil and Cosmospaw- or not! :] )) Veilglimpse will at one point (IRP or ORP) have a serious talk with Cosmospaw about the importance of being independent, proper, and dignified, along with keeping up a good outward appearance. The Warrior Code will be brushed upon, but ultimately isn't as important as good manners, clear speaking, and good posture. Show respect, and be respectable! They will also go over the importance of owning one's actions. Only one person should suffer for your mistakes- yourself. Lying or blaming others is a sign of weakness and will not be tolerated. Additionally, Cosmospaw's training will take place at any time of day. Whether it be early morning, midday, or deep into the night, Cosmospaw will be expected to be ready to train-- and fully awake for whatever patrols may be expected of him the next day. A warrior should be ready for anything at any hour of the day-- an enemy Clan won't attack when it's most convenient for you! Besides, ShadowClan cats don't have a strict sleep schedule like those in ThunderClan-- if they can do it, so can Cosmospaw. Probably. According to Veilglimpse's logic, anyways. All in all, Veilglimpse is a rather strict teacher who will try to instill a sense of pride and dignity into their apprentice, along with readying him for whatever dangers he may face in his future. As a thoughtful and elegant warrior, Veilglimpse will provide many opportunities for deep conversation and quiet consideration- when they aren't criticizing Cosmospaw's posture, that is. There's every chance for Veilglimpse to have a lovely mentor relationship with Cosmospaw, and they will definitely teach Cosmospaw many new skills- but, being the stubborn and judgemental cat they are, there's plenty of room for friction, as well. We'll see what happens! CONTENT: All battle moves that they know (look here for examples: ), along with the killing bite & playing dead. They used to avoid teaching those moves, deeming them cheap escapes, but after their brush with death, they view the moves as necessary skills if worst comes to worst. As stated previously, there will be special emphasis on battle training- but hunting will also be gone over in-depth, and Veilglimpse will try to teach Cosmospaw how to hunt lizards and frogs in the ShadowClan fashion. They will not teach Cosmospaw how to swim, though, as Veilglimpse never learned themself. They hate being wet with a passion, and after a bad experience involving a very deep pool, they don't go near water if they can help it.
