The old man's grave. A poem by me in memory of a dear relative who is no longer with me. In his youth, he worked as a sailor to bring his biggest dream to life, to explore the world. Soon all his dreams were full filled, except one. To make a family. He moved to the US, in hope to find better life. He married and had four daughters, the oldest my mother. He was the dearest of fathers, friends and grandfathers. He wished to be burried in his hometown in Greece, near the sea which was always in his blood. Alas, the pandemic creeper into our lives and he had to be burried in the US. That is why I wrote this poem.
