Back in December I drafted up an event that I was planning on presenting to the WindClan admin team to have it possibly come to life. I decided not to present it because I wanted a hand in making it happen and I wouldn't be able to unless I was an admin helper, which I wasn't/am not. I'm posting this to show my abilities to draft up events and create lore for my event admin helper application. This draft isn't by any means complete and doesn't represent my full vision for the event. Everything below was written in December of last year. --- So, I've had an idea for a WindClan annual event for a while, and I decided that I would share it and try to get it approved to become an actual event because I think that'd be neat! This event would be kind of neutral- not actively hurting the cats of WindClan but not necessarily helping them either. I wanted this event to be caused by something that the cats have no influence over because it has been a while since a WindClan event like that had happened! With all that being said, I'd like to present my event. ♪♬♫ Setup | WindClan has the most extreme climate of all the clans. Blistering hot days and dangerously cold nights are the standard during leaf-bare, making the territory be, quite possibly, the most dangerous of any clan. The cause that would jumpstart the event is a migration of prey from the northern and central regions of the territory to the deep southern regions of the territory. The foliage that WindClan's prey feeds on enters a dormant stage that would limit the amount of nutrition the prey gets from eating it. That, mixed with inhospitable cold would encourage the rabbits and roadrunners to migrate south to feed on coastal grasses and live on the moderately warm beaches. Because of the risk of either getting a heatstroke during the day and the risk of catching hypothermia during the night, WindClan warriors have an extremely short window of time to hunt during the evening and mornings. The time it would take the warriors to travel to the south, hunt, and come back is far too great for the amount of time they have during the safe golden hours. This would prompt the clan to move to a secondary, seasonal camp in the south for the leaf-bare moons. ♪♬♫ Frostbitten Camp | WindClan’s second, seasonal, ‘Frostbitten’ Camp would be in the south-eastern area of WindClan territory, right on the border with ThunderClan, in a grove of evergreen trees called ‘The Barrier’. Camp is buried in the middle of the thicket, protecting the cats from a bitter windchill. A single, extremely large evergreen is planted in the middle of camp. Rocks are dispersed around camp, allowing WindClan’s cats to sun themselves during the cold days. A partially frozen brook runs through the eastern section of camp which allows cats to get a drink of fresh water. The nursery is in the central evergreen, providing the kits protection from predators such as eagles and badgers. The warriors’ and apprentices’ den is a hole dug under a particularly small evergreen, a tunnel splits into two to separate the two dens. A giant hollow log sits on a giant pile of boulders, towering over camp. This giant log is called ‘The Behemoth’. Large icicles formed inside The Behemoth- these icicles make a pleasant wind chime-like sound when a gust of wind blows through the hollow log. The Behemoth is the only place where you can feel wind in camp, and it is said that the sound it produces is the melodic singing of WindClan cats who have passed. The leader makes announcements while standing atop The Behemoth and the leader’s den is in a hole dug under the boulders The Behemoth rests upon. A tunnel system dug by the tunnelers connects all of the dens in WindClan, giving the cats quick access to anywhere in camp without having to go to the surface. ♪♬♫ The Event Itself | This event would promote all of WindClan to unite together. The rebellion divided WindClan cats and the journey separated cats, dividing them across different ships, so it’d be a change of pace for an event. The attractions of the events are split into two groups; the hunting part and the camp part. --- This is 2023 me again, I never finished the meat of the event, but it went something like warriors could roll in the territory to hunt and could either get food, frostbite, or nothing. In camp, you could roll to fortify the dens as a snowstorm was on its way. Prizes would probably exist. The point of the event was to have a semi-positive, neutral event that brought characters together while having a little bit of drama for good measure. The idea of a seasonal camp fascinated me and with WindClan's extreme climate I thought it would be the perfect clan for it.
