Move Mario around using the Arrow Keys, and use Z and X to either run or jump. Play up until you beat the first level, because that's where the game ends. It's incomplete. Seriously. I don' want no comments sayin' "Um??? How do I get past the Level Clear screen???" IT'S BECAUSE THE GAME ISN'T DONE, 'KAY? It's still rough around the edges, but I hope you all enjoy it nonetheless.
What's this?! Mario Colors 3? scratchU8, you're working on Mario Colors 3?! Is that why you were gone so long?! I was. Keyword being was. (And no, it's not why I was gone for so long, ya doof) After a year of working on just the first level, the game as a whole proved to start becoming too ambitious for Scratch, or me, to handle. Spending a year on each project is really not something anyone would wanna sit through. And while this taking a year was mostly due to aesthetic changes, touch-ups, and new ideas being added, most of which wouldn't come up in later projects because the core design would have already been solidified, it would still take much too long for my liking. Just what I have alone is enough to lag Scratch up the booty, and I really don't have a good enough computer to keep up with it all. Does this mean I'm not proud of what I have so far? No. In fact, this is probably the best game I've ever made, and the plans I had for the game later on ain't too bad either: The plot would be much more light-hearted than Mario Colors 2's, yet still have moments that are able to be taken seriously, Cutscenes would be fully animated, as opposed to the RPG-like cutscenes on Mario Colors 2, Toad (yeah, the guy whose sole purpose in this is pretty much to give you instructions) would have character development, that being, he notices he doesn't have any helpful information to give you, and feels increasingly useless, and is too sad to give you any information when you actually need him the most (i.e., during a boss with seemingly no weak points), better Slime power integration, and overall, everything would just feel more polished than the previous 2 entries. But the last thing I wanted this to become is a chore, and when you work too long and hard on something, it just isn't fun to create anymore. Hope you don't hate me too much!!! =Fun Fax= - The game is meant to be sort of a combination of Super Mario World and New Super Mario Bros. - Some of the suggestions to further develop the game came from my friends, such as the slowly-scrolling background, and changeable control scheme. - The game was originally going to be the entire thing into one project, but thank God I dropped that idea, because my computer can barely handle this alone. - The password feature was originally going to return, but I ditched it, because no one really liked it, and it's really inconvenient when you just wanna go back and play a level after a long time. - The title screen changed compLETELY from it's first conception. - I had plans to make the game's art style more consistent, like changing the HUD into sprites, but I didn't get around to it!!!
