Hello there everyone, and welcome to the song stories project for the July 2023 session of Skyfall Writing Camp! Please read through the *entire* description to avoid confusion while doing song stories. Without further ado, let's begin! - - - ꊛ What Are Song Stories? Song stories are similar to word wars but without the "warring" aspect. In song stories, first, you listen to a song, picked randomly or decided by you and your song story "partner", and write a short story under a decided amount of words, and within a decided amount of time. After you're done writing, you share your writing with the other person, and between you two, you decide who wrote the story that corresponded with the song the most. - - - ꊛ How to Do A Song Story To do a song story, comment on this project with a preferred song, a word count maximum, and a decided time. Someone will respond, and you can begin the song story. After you're done, you can put your story in your personal activity thread, and your "partner" will read it. Between you two, you decide which story resembles or represents the song the most, and the winner receives 100 points for their cabin. - - - ꊛ Song Recommendations Some songs I would recommend for song stories are listed below. The list will update every week, and if you want to recommend songs, feel free to tell me! - Lavender Haze by Taylor Swift - Birds by Imagine Dragons - Dandelions by Ruth B. - Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor - I'm A Lady by Meghan Trainor - Love Story by Taylor Swift - - - ꊛ Types of Stories You Can Write The range of stories and writing styles you can write is pretty broad. You can write poetry, backstories, or what you feel is best. You could write a fantasy story that is completely unrelated to the song, but you feel that fits the "vibe." You could write a dystopian short story that fits the lyrics and has a backstory to it. You can even write a script if you feel comfortable with it. - - - ꊛ Rules - If you're doing a song that has been done before, you CAN NOT copy the past stories. - Song story word count minimums must be AT LEAST 800 words. - Song story word count maximums must be LOWER THAN 10,000 words. Song stories CAN NOT exceed one chapter, as they are meant to be short stories. - Song story deadlines must be AT LEAST 15 minutes long. - Song story deadlines CAN NOT be longer than a week. - All writing MUST be yours. If it's found out that you plagiarized, then your cabin will lose 1,000 points. - You can ONLY WRITE things that you would write if it wasn't for the song. - You CANNOT announce a song story with people from your cabin! - - - ꊛ Credits - Thanks to for the description and thumbnail! - Thanks to for founding and hosting the first session of SFWC! - Thanks to for hosting this session of SFWC!
