~~~~~~~~Botanica - A Gardening Simulator~~~~~~~~ Welcome to Botanica! I have been working on this garden design simulator game for over three months, and now it is time to release a beta version. RECOMMENDED-- Play on TURBOWARP (for now) and disable clone limit. ~~ https://turbowarp.org/871054873 ~~ It will still work without this, but you will be limited to about 250 items for your garden due to Scratch's 300 clone limit (It sounds like a lot but if you really want to make a good garden you need at least 300). I'm currently devising a plan to make Botanica 100% Scratch friendly by making all the clones delete themselves when you exit the editor then remake themselves (in the correct positions, sizes etc.) when you return. Sort of like a save code except the game system saves it, not you. While you're at it on Turbowarp, enabling interpolation also looks nice. DISCLAIMER: While this project has a lot of content already, it is roughly 30% finished, nowhere near being a well-rounded, self-sufficient game yet. Creative mode is recommended for playing the Beta version as there is no way to earn money yet, besides the $50 that you start out with in the normal mode. The How To Play mode does not work yet. I am releasing this version principally for feedback. I want to know what y'all like. :P But enough of what you can't do-- here's a comprehensive list of what you can do RIGHT NOW: -Choose a mode. Creative mode is best for the Beta version. -Decorate your garden! Fill it up! :D -Use the shop. Only 9 items so far (one alone takes about an hour and a half to create, I'm not kidding LOL), I'm going for around 150, including seasonal items only available at certain times of the year. Do the math. I'll be designing plants for a good long while. XD -Rotate and resize items. Click the keyboard icon in the garden editor to see those special controls. -Delete items. You can either delete items individually by dragging them into the circle with the X in the center of the dashboard, or by clicking the broom icon right next to it, which will sweep the entire garden of items. -Play a basic version of Florist: The Minigame. You can only plant and grow flowers right now, but soon you will be able to harvest them and make bouquets out of them. Each flower comes at a certain price and takes a certain amount of seconds to grow, both of which are indicated in the seed shop.
All art and coding is 100% by me. Inspiration came partly from a YouTube Channel called Garden Answer, and also from the garden center where I work seasonally. Please note that since there's no How To Play mode yet, some of the gameplay may be mildly confusing or not self-explanatory. That will be fixed in time. What do you like about the game? What do you think needs improvement? What do you think of the game dynamics (transitions, buttons etc.)? Did you encounter any glitches while playing? I'll be creating two more minigames besides Florist, in which you can earn money. Any ideas for the other two? #art #games #garden #peaceful #design #plant #nature #growing #flower #epic #supercool #wow #whyareyoureadingthehashtags
