Hi there ^J^ How'd you end up here? ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧---------------------------- SYNOPSIS: On the day that Chloe leaves home to go back to her boarding school across the waters, Alina promises to uphold the town’s lantern tradition upon their reunion. But when the ferry Chloe is supposed to be on doesn’t show up, and the weather starts to change drastically, it becomes clear that Alina may not be able to keep her promise after all. Between a bitter breeze on the horizon, new acquaintances and a series of coincidences that seem to follow the family cat Boba, will Alina be able to keep her promise to her sister? And more importantly, where is Chloe? ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧---------------------------- Previous Part: N/A Next Part: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/871239760/ ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧----------------------------- INSTRUCTIONS: • Right Arrow Key: Advance • Space Key: Advance • Click (on right side of screen): Advance • Click (on left side of screen) Previous Page • Left Arrow Key: Previous Page • M Key (or Music Button): Mute/Unmute Credits: • All writing by me aka @JollofRice123 ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ • Thumbnail: made on Canva • Music: Quiet Time by Fesliyan Studios ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧---------------------------- TL;DR: MORE PARTS COMING SOON Anyway, enjoy the story! Well, part 1 of it anyway. It was actually only supposed to be a short story, but when I got halfway through, I realised that there was no way the entire thing would fit into one project (past Jori learned that the hard way with 'D I G I T A L' lol). What I'm getting at, is that I'll be sharing the rest of the story in more projects, if you ever want to continue it for any reason. ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧---------------------------- "There are some things in life that you just can’t change, no matter how much you want to change them. And that’s because wanting it to happen - just *wanting* it to - isn’t ever enough. I mean, how could it be? That’s not how it works. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try, right?" ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧---------------------------- RAMBLING... The bit you read in the section above (if you actually read the section above XD) is something I call a 'story handle'. That's a term I made up and in short, it's a short paragraph that either a) introduces a character voice or b) introduces a description of some kind. Before writing this story, I had already created the thumbnail AND the title (other forms of story handles if you will), which means that I based my writing off these things instead of the other way around. However, when it came to actually needing to start, I got a bit stuck. Times like these is when I say to myself, "okay, just take the first idea that pops into your head and roll with it. Write literally anything." Except, I didn't HAVE any ideas to roll with XP I tried reading through past works for inspiration, I tried generating random words (which actually works pretty well for me when writing poetry, like in my poem 'Pancakes'), I tried giving my brain a break through browsing the internet. You know, all kinds of things. Nothing came to me. And so I wrote a story handle paragraph. Kinda like a door handle, the StoHan (that would make for an interesting character name or surname-) is merely the tool that allows the 'door' to be opened. I don't know if the actual character voices I used reflect the StoHan that much, but it definitely got me writing. I don't know how or why, but I haven't written this much for one short story in years, so maybe I've finally found an inspiration method that works for me :D Wow, did you read ALL of that? :O ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧---------------------------- Who wants a spin-off story from Boba's point of view? Just me? Okay. ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧---------------------------- Can you tell that it's been a while since I've written prose instead of poetry? XD ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧----------------------------- Oh right, this story will alternate character perspective at some point, so the little slider thingy at the start tells you whose perspective you're reading from :) ----------------------------°✿。✯.*゚+✧---------------------------- 1365 words :O
