"a" Garfield is a descendant of the Arbuckle family, who swam to Jon's house while saying "I hate mondays." He bought his food (and his lasagna) in the human world and he really loves them. In his spare time, he enjoys sleeping.
Garfield is lazy and always looking for food, and often amuses his viewers with his lasagna-loving antics. He has no interest in following directions, often naps and misbehaves, has trouble remembering important dates, and consistently fails to solve even the simplest of problems, leading viewers to affectionately call him a "lazy cat". Memorably, one viewer declared that "Garfield has a stomach of gold and a laziness that knows no bounds."
