(Please read all the way through the instructions, then all the way through the Notes and Credits, before formatting a request.) Welcome to the Grocery Store, which our mercenaries are currently operating out of. You can see more info on the Mercenaries (such as their identities and their demands) inside this project! HOW MERCENARIES WORK: The Mercenaries are a select group of volunteers who expressed interest in writing for other cabins as well as their own this session. So this cabin wars, if you and your cabin ever need a helping hand, you will be able to ask for a Mercenary right here and they'll be able to write towards your active war. Mercenaries, however, won't work for you for free. You'll have to pay the price... THE MANGO SYSTEM: At the very start of cabin wars, each cabin automatically received 3 mangoes. At the same time, the Grocery store opened and the identities of our Mercenaries were revealed. The rules are simple: the mercenaries will write for you, as long as you pay them in mangoes. HOW TO USE MANGOES: Leaders and co-leaders can use mangoes automatically. Campers can only use one mango at a time, unless given approval to use more by any other member of their cabin. All mango trades must happen in the Grocery Store comments, so we can keep track. Mangoes cannot be temporarily loaned or borrowed, or halved or quartered. Mangoes can only be spent on mercenaries, who can then donate their mangoes wherever they like. Mercenaries can choose whether or not to complete bonus challenges. Mercenaries are obliged to hold up their end of the bargain once they’ve been paid; if they fail to complete what they’ve been paid to do before the war ends, the cabin keeps the mango. You can't use a mercenary who comes from your own cabin - otherwise they'd just be writing towards their own war, which they really should be doing anyway. Mercenaries can no longer have their services requested after cabin war day is over in UTC (even if there are still active wars). Mangoes have NO POINT VALUE, or any bearing on the ranking. All mango requests must follow the prescribed formatting. Your cabin can only use one merc at a time! You can interact with mercenaries and talk deals outside of this project; however, mango trades MUST be confirmed in this project's comments, for host sanity. Any further questions should be redirected to a host's profile.
FORMATTING YOUR REQUEST: Your request comment for war assistance should be formatted like this: cabin | war number* | request | confirmation you're a leader OR you’re a camper abiding to the one-mango rule (unless given permission to use more by another cabin member). Example: Non-Fi | War 4 | Write 2k towards our war please! I'm willing to pay 2 mangoes | I confirm I am a leader/I am a camper given approval by a member of non-fi's leading team. Any mercenaries interested will reply to your request with a message of acceptance. If you have talked with a mercenary and come to a deal you're both happy with outside of this project, you should confirm the trade in the comments. This comment doesn't need to have a set format, but you should confirm the cabin, the mercenary, and the mangoes paid. *WAR NUMBERS: Wars have been numbered for ease of identification. You should use the war numbers if you are requesting a mercenary. Write 4000 words as a cabin in the next 9 hours = War 1. Write 3500 words as a cabin in the next 8 hours = War 2. Two people must write 500 words each in the next 8 hours = War 3. Write 2000 words as a cabin in the next 4 hours = War 4. Write 1000 words as a cabin in the next 3 hours = War 5. At least three people in your cabin have to collaborate to create a short story of at least 700 words. (each cabin can only receive this war once.) = War 6 Write 4500 words as a cabin in the next 7 hours = War 7.
