10th of July, 12023 year of the Holocene Era, The Suite in C minor, BWV 997, is most commonly played on the lute; however, it was probably never intended for that instrument, and instead written for the Lautenwerck, or Lute Harpsichord. This instrument is similar to the Harpsichord, but featured gut strings, rather then metal ones. The Lautenwerck was likely a favorite of Bach's, who possesed two at the time of his death in 1750. I was quite surprised when I heard this piece, something about it's quality is quite somewhat unlike Bach.
