Shunned - Chapter 3

Instructions

“Give up, Annalise.” Melian said, with a chuckle on her face. “Leave dad and mom. You were always their favorite, the smart, beautiful, quirky girl you are. Join me, sister. You will feel at home once you join the Neverseen, and you finally will see that the cruel ways I have tried to hurt your precious family, was actually to help you. Once I have their corpses at my feet, my mission is complete, and you will come with me.” Suddenly, my arms and my legs were shackled to the ground, and I could barely move. The rest of the Neverseen were about to kill me, and I was in the middle of it! Melian grabbed my neck, and was choking me until my face turned completely green. I was almost about to die….that was until my dad took some action. He and Melian fought hard, which was the start of a bloody rebellion. All of the Neverseen tried to fight him, but then their dead bodies lied on the ground, right next to Melian. She started to scowl. “You win this time, daddy.” she said. “You will never be able to beat me, ever! I will come back for revenge some day, and Annalise will suffer like I did!” Melian ran away, and soon enough, things were back to normal again. But I still had some questions to answer. What did she mean when she said that she was suffering? Why did she want me to suffer? The only thing I could do was ask my parents, however I would need to snatch their answers right out of their heads. The next morning, I decided it was time to finally ask them. “Mom?” I said, with a peculiar look on my face. “What did Melian mean when she said that I deserved to suffer like she did?” My mother dropped her book on the floor, and looked at me with a grim look on her face. “Honey….why are you asking this?” she said, still being grim. “I wanted to find out some answers, and I think I am ready now.” “Okay,” she began. “When I was pregnant with Melian, I had a very strange dream. I had this dream where she decided to kill me, and betray our family. I told Keefe about this, and we decided to ask your grandmother for help. She said that she was worried, because this child was supposed to be a bad omen. We thought that she was being paranoid, but she was telling the truth. Once your sister was born, she was just like Keefe. We loved Melian very much. We went on trips together, we went to Atlantis, and we always played with Silveny. And Melian always made us laugh with her pranks and funny jokes. It was a great time, until we sent her to Foxfire. Melian’s grades were always low, and she was always in detention. One time, she actually punched a child in the face. We were told by the principal that Melian’s anger is leading to mental problems in her brain. She thinks that she can’t trust anyone, and her mind was always filled with Everblaze. Her classmates always bullied her, and called her names. We then realized that Melian’s destiny was to join the Neverseen.” I was shocked. Mother already knew that this would happen, and now Melian is out there, unprotected. Her mind is just like Fintan’s, and she doesn’t know how to control it…
