First time doing digital art in a while thanks to a sudden and random burst of motivation- I've been designing a big group of characters and this is one of them, also my first character with vitiligo (which I've been wanting to do for a while but I never had a solid idea until now). I'll make projects (maybe) for the rest of the characters as I design them so look forward to that I guess. Name: Penny (named after the Penny Bun mushroom) Species: Sporeborn Age: Unknown Height: 7' 2" Gender: Female (she/her) Personality: Sweet, kind, and caring (definitely the mom of the group). Always willing to help those in need. Very protective over those she cares about. Abilities: -Mushrooms sprout from her arms either by command or accompanying strong emotions. Each mushroom has a different effect upon consumption. If the mushroom is grown on command then the effect is whatever was needed, but if it was grown due to a strong emotion then the effect relates to whatever emotion grew the mushroom. -Can speak to plants and fungi and relay messages through root systems. So yeah, that's Penny and I absolutely love her. I'm really happy with her design but like I said this was my first time designing a character with vitiligo and also my first time trying to stylize this texture of hair so I know there's room for improvement. I always feel weird designing african american characters because I want to represent them properly and my anxiety tells me that I'm not, so if there are any ways I can do better please let me know. (A quick update for those who care) I stopped drawing everyday for the second half of may and all of june bc life got busy and I just needed a break. I started again on july 1st but I'm not going to be making monthly update projects anymore (unless I change my mind later on) because they just took too much work and no one really saw them. I keep switching between wanting to leave scratch for good and wanting to start posting again so for now I'll just keep posting whenever I feel like it and see what happens. Idk y'all I'm sixteen now and I can't decide if I've outgrown this site or not but I don't have anywhere else to post art and interact with other artists like I used to on here.
