This project is for Scratch Camp Week 1: Star Gazers. ___________________________________________ Instructions Click the telescope to view the Milky Way Galaxy from Sunrise, and area on Mt. Rainier. Watch as shooting stars go by, and listen to the wind around you. As for the crackling... sorry about that. Just pretend its a campfire or something. I originally intended for the telescope to move with your mouse, but I didn't know how, so I changed it. Use the arrows to see different parts of the sky when looking through the telescope lense. Read the variables to learn about different celestial objects. ___________________________________________ For whatever reason, this is my first completed major project to have sound. Even Dogfight is silent (Which is kind of sad). I guess I'm just too used to having my computer muted as my default during the school year. I will eventually update other projects for sound.
___________________________________________ Notes: In the United States of America's Northwest region lies a mountain range known as the Cascades. In Washington, 5 of these mountains are active volcanoes: Glacier Peak, Mt Adams, Mt Baker, Mt St. Helens, and Mt Rainier. 2 of these have become famous: St. Helens, for a massive eruption in 1980, in which it lost its peak, and Rainier, for its beauty, and for the country's 5th National Park. Recently, I took a trip to Rainier. There are two sides of the park, Paradise and Sunrise. In the early morning, Photographers often travel to the Sunrise side of the mountain to take pictures as the mountain turns pink or gold for about 5-10 minutes at... Sunrise. At night, stargazers can see the Milky Way. It is a great part of the Mountain, but not as well-known as Paradise on the opposite side. This was the inspiration for my project. I recreated the mountain in art, as it looks from my home and the Sunrise area and showed the Milky Way beyond. While in reality, the Milky Way is not likely above the mountain, it was cool idea, so I made it like that. Yes, I am from Washington. Go Mariners, Seahawks Storm, Kraken, and Huskies! ___________________________________________ Credits: Sounds from Scratch Library. All art and code by me. Inspiration from Mt. Rainier National Park, Scratch Camp Week 1 theme: Star Gazers, and the project that was featured called "Space: A Parallax". (However, I did not use any art, sound or code from the project. It just gave me an idea) ___________________________________________ Changes: V. 1.0 - 7/26/2023 - Initial release for Scratch Camp V. 1.1 - 7/27/2023 - Added Intro
