⇢⇢ ♡ Welcome ↷ ↬Hi!! This is my first project (on this acc) for such a long time!! Enjoy (this is ↣obviously a short story) Also I kinda just did this in between/during classes cause I was bored, so it really isn’t the best…but here it is! (It was edited a lot since I first scribbled it in my notebook) —> (thumbnail made on Canva) /tw Mentions of lost people and murder •The water’s edge ↬She watched as the soft waves crashed into the sand the colour of spun gold as she rocked back and forth on the rickety swing on which she was perched. She peered over at the smiling girl on the swing next to hers, her cousin. Her cousin, though sitting on the swing just sat and watched the waves. Violet, River's cousin's braids touched the golden sand beneath ger feet, her dark skin looked like it was glowing because of the way the setting sun reflected against it. Suddenly Violet stopped smiling and abruptly stood from the swing, walking away, out if sight. River didn't think it strange,or give it a second thought. River's Mother, her father and aunts, her uncles... despite searching frantically never found, or even ever saw Violet ever again... but River though she was not aware, would see Violet frequently over the course of her life. River was never left alone after Violet's disappearance. She was interviewed, questioned over and over... she was even accused of her cousin's murder! River grew to become a detective, occasionally called the best in the world… but many disagreed, because River only ever investigated her cousin’s disappearance. One day as Violet paced the water’s edge , she caught sight of a large dark shape disappearing and reappearing over the water. She whirled around and saw a dolphin the colour of Violet 's hair. River nearly screamed as she ran from the beach… but it was not the dolphin’s dark colour that disturbed her… she was sure the dolphin’s eyes… they looked exactly like Violet’s! River never saw Violet again , or so she thought, but she didn’t know that the dark dolphin watched her whenever she neared the water’s edge. The end. - - - - -- - - - -- - - - - - - - --- - - - - - - - --- - - - P.S please leave constructive criticism.
