Every roughly 15 minutes they have to flip it, because if all the sand falls to the bottom, they disintegrate into sand and die. One day, the hourglass broke and all the sand fell to the ground. Vintage started to disintegrate, but it happened very slowly. It took months for them to fully disappear. Then they kinda like came back as a sand ghost or something of the sort, but still looked exactly the same, just without the hourglass. What they can do as a sand ghost is limited, in the sense that they can't hold things or touch things, but can control the sands. Hope that makes sense lol and I totally didn't base the entire backstory off of something I added hahaha
