A tradition aging all the way back to the first Rabbit on the Moon. He was to stay with the moon, and keep it on track. "This is a great honor," said Luan's father. "The Moon Goddess herself has chosen you to help her," Luan had nodded, but had secretly been panicking. /What if I fall asleep in the middle of the night? What if I get it all wrong?/ The day the Moon Goddess took Luan to the moon had been both the most glorious and most terrifying moment of his life. /I wonder if I'll ever see her face/ The Moon Goddess was secretive, and kept all but her wings hidden. "You will stay here, on the moon, guarding it and keeping the balance," she had said, "You may leave every New Moon." Luan had nodded, and sat on the dusty, silver ground. ☾⋆。? °✩ Nothing could have prepared him for the eclipse. He'd heard the ancient stories, of times when the moon had been partly covered in shadow. Tonight, it was all the way gone. Luan had trained for the blue mons, the bl0od moons, and super moons. Yet the full lunar eclipses were so uncommon on their small little world... In the storm of shadows, it felt as if Luan's own existence was falling apart. /I don't have a choice. I don't know how to hang on in this. I have to leave the moon/ Of course, leaving the moon without a guardian had consequences. It began to drift out of orbit, taking the tides out of order with it. Soon, the world was plunged into darkness. Luan shuddered. He knew he would never be forgiven for this. /I should have sacrificed myself to save the moon.../
(continued from above) He ran off into the night, vowing never to leave the safety of the underground again. /I failed. I'm never going back again. I'll leave the Moon Guarding to someone who's worthy/ Moons later, he had a dream. The Moon Goddess appeared to him. She pulled back her cloak's hood and revealed a... rabbit face. It suddenly clicked. The Moon Guardian wasn't simply a guardian of the Moon. The Moon Guardian was an apprentice to the Moon God. The Moon Goddess smiled, having apparently guessed what Luan was thinking. "I'm sorry," said Luan. "Don't worry. It's all clouds gone to wind." The Moon Goddess' face grew serious for a moment. "You can't keep doing that if you're going to be the next Moon God," Luan was confused. "What? But I failed?" The Moon Goddess shrugged. "Not really. I fixed it, and we all make mistakes." She grinned again. "Besides, once a Moon Guardian is chosen, you can't exactly abandon your post. And I'm ready for retirement." "Wait what?" "Of course, you'll need a couple moons of training, but I think you'll be fine. Anyways, you should probably wake up now. You might as well enjoy one more day before returning to the night." Before Luan could say anything more, the Moon Godess tapped his nose, and he was gone. -----------------------------Credits---------------------------------- Character: Luan (he/him) Story - Art - Code - Remix Difficulty - 4/5 (animated portions, art specific coding[u may have to change the positions depending on the art you put in])
