☆Part two! I am changing part of this therefore adding a part three. ☆Now time for the second part of the backstory. It had been years since the kit had received her powers. She was six (Dragon years; not sure what it is in human years or cat years) and had completely forgotten about her escapade five years before. No cat bought up the events of what had happened; therefore she was left wondering how she had wings...and flowers growing out of her. She also had a name now. Charcoal. As she stepped out of her den, she was greeted by her mother. ''Charcoal,'' She said to her daughter in a hurried tone, ''You need to leave at once-'' She paused for a second before continuing to speak. ''You need to go and check on the mountains. Strange things have been happening there.'' Charcoal nodded. She liked checking on things if it meant protecting the others. Sometimes they were interesting. Giving her mother a friendly purr, she padded off. She was finally at the mountains. While exiting the cats' land, she had been given odd glances from a few of them. She just assumed they were still surprised too see a cat with wings. And the still more unexplained flowers growing out of her. Looking around, Charcoal saw that the sky was clouded with ash. She breathed in quickly, trying not to inhale too much of it but was baffled when she didn't taste the harsh ash in the air. 'Never mind that,' she thought, 'I have to find out what's happening.' As she looked around, Charcoal nearly jumped in surprise at the sight of a volcano bubbling aggressively in front of her. Looking around, she was yet again confused by the perfect state of the trees around the volcano. suddenly, a voice called out from behind her. ''Lost?'' Asked an ash-grey cat. Charcoal shook her head. ''No. I'm here because something strange is happening.'' ''What would that be?'' The other cat asked, turning his head in a confused manner. ''The perfect health of these trees, I assume,'' She replied. ''There's nothing odd about that. The trees around here are always perfect. Don't you know that?'' Charcoal sighed. This seemed hopeless. If there was nothing wrong with the trees, then what had she been sent up here for? ''I saw an army of cats heading down to there,'' The grey cat pointed a paw in the direction of her home, ''Do you know them?'' A growl of fury just barely escaped from her throat. Charcoal felt angel bubble up inside of her like the lava in the volcano. Her fur bristled with rage as she hissed: ''They must have been our enemy.'' The grey cat looked surprised. ''Oh...alright then. Would you like to stay until the battle is over?'' ''Of course not! They could hurt my friends and my family!'' She yowled, rushing down the mountain. Suddenly, an invisible force stopped her from going any further. ''You can NOT go down there, do you hear me?'' The grey cat growled. ''Why not? I need to help them!'' ''We have other plans for you,'' He spoke again. Turning around to face him, Charcoal saw that his eyes glowed an eerie orange just like the lava of the volcano. ''We helped you before. Now you help us.'' Charcoal looked around as panic shot through her. What did he mean by 'we'? And what did he mean when he said that 'we' had helped her before? It was all too much. She pushed in a desperate way, attempting to escape but the force wouldn't budge. ''Just- let me help them,'' She pleaded, ''I'll come back later, I promise!'' The grey cat shook his head and took a step forwards. 'Don't bother running,'' echoed through her head. 'We'll always find you. Save yourself from the misery to come if you leave and stay here.' Charcoal yowled in fear as the voices continued, sounding like crowds and crowds of cats instead of what seemed to be one. The grey cat was beside her now, reaching his paw out towards her in agonising slowness. 'Don't bother,' the voice hissed as if responding to her thoughts. ''Leave me alone!'' She yelped again. It was useless. The cat just kept staring at her. She closed her eyes, bracing herself for what was to come. His cold paw touched the flower over her eye and a bright orange light blinded her for at least ten seconds. In those ten seconds, everything was awful. Screams, fighting, voices hissing and yowling, even fire crackling and the bubbling of the volcano. Then it all stopped. Everything stopped. The grey cat led her up towards the volcano and she followed him, the two of them walking in unison. Charcoal couldn't stop. She begged every one of her paws to turn around and stop but nothing happened. As they got to the top, she saw the grey cat's eyes flicker from an empty orange to a sad green before he plunged into the volcano. She followed. She was in a forest. Not the sort she was used to. Its trees were completely empty; none of their leaves could be seen. The air clouded with ash...and a massive volcano towered over her. Charcoal remembered something like this. She was sure it was nicer...before?
☆There we go! Part two is done. There will hopefully be a part three.
