Okay here is my opinion: Fitz is great. He's a very well written character that feels real. His emotions and reactions, while not always the kindest or the best, are realistic and understandable. He is a flawed person with problems and bias and that makes him an amazing character! He struggles with stuff and has noticeable character growth. I actually liked how Sofitz went, how it was a bit awkward and it ended fairly quickly, but thats also realistic. Not every first crush is true love forever. Not everyone who likes each other is a good match. sometimes good friends are just good friends. I will always like how Fitz is written, how he struggles with overcoming the bias and worldviews he was raised with. He is an child who was raised to be Elite and knows nothing else until a girl with a destiny bigger than his comes crashing into his world. He's a teen that saw his father break shortly after a secret trip with Sophie and he lashed out like people do when they're hurt or scared or grieving. He's made mistakes and hurt people, but he also is trying to fix himself and ultimately help fix his world.
He'll never top my list of favorite characters. But that is ONLY because Shannon Messenger gave us multiple angst teens in dark cloaks, and Villains with horrible methods and interesting motives. And Elwin. But Fitz is great Sofitz was done well Sokeefe forever Its late and I'm tired, but I will die on this hill.
