Chapter 64: A crater in the ground exploded in flames, dousing us all in a shower of fire. Which was not very good for me as a Froster. The warmth soaked through my bones, almost reaching my core, and I had to replenish it before I could continue. I knew I could not fight as well in Hell as I could above, especially with North Star, so I needed to lure Agatha to the surface. That was the plan. How I was going to achieve it, however, was a different story. Phoenix was dueling her very well. She was riding on Fang of Blood while Agatha had claimed another hellhound. They were exchanging fire, and while she had multiple wounds, she gave as good as she got. Her dagger made cuts then retreated before she could get any return, and her fire twirled around Agatha, while she kept Agatha’s at bay. But I could see Agatha was just as competent, doing the same along with a few shadowy tricks I didn’t like. She was not my mother anymore. She was just Agatha. She had lost every bit of respect and love I had for her, when she put that knife to my neck, trying to kill her own daughter. I needed to clear my head of any sympathy I had for her. “I need to get Agatha to surface. I can fight better aboveground with North Star,” I told Darkness of Night. “Very well. But you need to get her above carefully. There is a battle going on. Oh, and Ember is still skulking around,” Darkness responded, rasping. “What about those shadow people?” I asked. “I do not know who those were, but they reeked of evil. Hell is home for a lot of evil people, but nobody that evil should be in Hell. I am uncomfortable with them, and I could feel the shift in the entire realm when just two emerged.” “Are they still around?” “Some yes. But I think they went above to help in the battle. Your camp is quite strong.” I looked at Phoenix. Then I saw Thana. Who was right now in a corner with the rest of the mirror demons held back by Ember. I met her eyes. And I came up with a plan. Chapter 65: I funneled all of my anger at Ember’s betrayal straight into a single icy blast and sent it straight barreling towards him. “Coward,” I hissed. He froze into a block of ice, but not before sending a blast of fire at me, which I managed to freeze as well. He would incapacitated for a while. By now, the adrenaline had begun to course through my veins, and I let it have its way. “Can you go to Thana and ask her to make a portal straight towards the above when I give the signal?” I asked Darkness. “Yes. But when you go above we separate.” “All right. Thank you for your assistance.” “You are welcome. You have strength, honor and competence. It was an honor carrying you,” he dipped his head towards me as I lept off and I returned it before he rushed towards Thana. And then I raised my blade and my ice and took on Agatha. My own mom who had disowned me. And I let the anger fuel my actions.
