Wow that was the most stressful vacation ever LOL So I'm back, one day later than originally intended :/ SOOOOO storytime First day, we leave our house on the 3rd and drive 4 hours to our cabin. We get there (It's like 10 pm by now) and the cabin is in terrible shape. A few floorboards are half-ripped from the ground and there's holes in the walls (Including a huge one where the door knob hits the wall in my room). Everything AT LEAST has one layer of dust, if not more. Heck, even my bed had a layer of dust on it. There were stains on some of the beds and pillows. Our allergies were off the charts cause of the dust. There was a spiral staircase that honesty hurt our ankles and knees. There was a loft that was really high up with a ladder that was hard to climb up and down. In the loft, there was a flat-table arcade machine that worked fine, but the actual condition of the machine was terrible. The glass was shattered and the edges were broken off. Thankfully, my parents booked a new cabin almost as soon as we got to that cabin, since they couldn't sleep. So day 2 rolls around, we all got terrible sleep and sneezing constantly. So when my dad called to get transferred, they said someone would go over to the new cabin and start cleaning immediately. But we waited hours for it to be "cleaned" and it seemed to be taking longer than it should. My dad called at 10 AM and by the time we decided to actually stop waiting, it was 7 pm. We left the old cabin and started driving around. Context: when you rent a cabin, they normally don't give you the specific address until you check-in. And for us, they wouldn't give us the address until it was "clean". But we waited so long that my dad pretty much was able to reverse-search the cabin and find it. So we pull up (It's like 7-8 pm) and find out they cleaned it a while ago and they just never called us. So my dad calls the person and they say we can finally go in. It was really nice and clean and everything was good and we even got into the hot tub (Cause most cabins have one outside). Yk everything was good right? For a little, until day 3 :P Day 3, in the hot tub my dad saw a wasp nest and thought of the genius idea to knock it down that morning and run inside. We wanted to get in the hot tub, but there were so many angry wasps that we couldn't. So my dad had wasp spray and kept going in and out of the cabin to use the spray and quickly run inside. I ended up doing a bunch of research on wasps and we knocked the nest away and sprayed mint spray around the hot tub (Cause they hate the smell). Day 4. So we have cameras in our garage that look over at our ferrets play pen to make sure they're doing alright. So my dad checks the cameras on his phone, and sees the ferrets broke out of the pen. And because they're in the garage, they could get into dangerous stuff. So I spam call my friend (Who is near my house and has experience with my ferrets) to go over and help them and get them into their cage. My friend was having ride issues so his grandma had to get off work early to drive him. The ferrets are safe and unharmed and in their cage now. Day 5, which was SUPPOSED to be the day we return home. But it isn't :/ So we get ready to leave and leave right at checkout. We go to an aquarium and a 50s diner (Which was super fun) and the power even went off at the diner cause of a big storm, but we were all fine and the power went back on after a few minutes. So everything was going slayful until we went to go drive home. Literally minutes as we are driving home, my dad said the front right tire was making weird noises, and we stop at a random gas station to check it out. Apparently the breaks were being weird and something was off to the point that the wheel could fall off if he drives too fast. But we had nothing else to drive and we couldn't find anywhere to tow the car far enough so we drove slow. We found a repair shop, but we get there and it's just someone's backyard and it's (We assumed) just a repair shop run by family. So we said "uuuuhhh maybe not" cause we wanted to find an actual company repair place, so we kept driving. We found a hotel to stay at nearby and found a place to go for the morning. So everything was good from there, right? Nope. Day 6, we at the hotel and it was super hot so we didn't get much sleep. Flash forward and we get to the repair shop. With no ride, we decide to walk to a park nearby. I don't know why parents thought this was a good idea, because this area was MAD sketchy. But we get to the park right. Technically. But this park ain't a park. It's a bench in the middle of the woods. THAT'S the park. So we finally look up somewhere to go, cause it's hot and we were sweating pools. So we find a Burger King and walk there and chill there for a few hours until the car repair calls us that our car is done. We walk back to the repair shop and FINALLY go home. And FINALLY that is the end of the vacation :/
I did get a fun axolotl stuffed animal that's like a foot and a half long so it's fun to pretend it's a small cat or smth and pet it :) (AKA my emotional support axolotl stuffed animal named Fred) Edit: About a few hours after I posted this, we find out my dad's credit card info was stolen at a random gas station we were at cause he got an email to a sports store for a $750 order that was supposed to get picked up today somewhere in Kentucky, and my dad didn't order anything from there so he knew it was stolen so he canceled his card and called the store (So it got sorted out and stuff)
