For a while, i had to fix a bug in @--TIOF-- 's new album project or whatever. While doing so, i had a genius idea: why not use the pitch effect blocks (which also modify music speed) to make it so that you can go to a specified part of a song? Epic idea right? It's just a tiny bit of math to find the special pitch to get there almost instantly, then put the pitch back to normal right? Well yes but actually no. It turns out (and i don't know why) that the pitch effect is limited to playing things "only" 8 times faster, which is obviously not enough for instant switching. Just as i was writing this and hovered over the share button, i had an other genius idea: why not make the song file 8 times faster then? That ends up being 64 times faster, and then i can just set it 8 times slower to give it back its normal pitch! So i asked @antoinetelgruc2 to speed up the file in audacity (which he only sped up 4x and not 8x btw) and then coded it to play 4x faster, and 32x faster while switching. The problem is, speeding up a sound also decreases its quality, which you can hear alot unfortunately, so that's the tradeoff. Set mode to 1 to see the slow unaltered version, and 2 to see the faster but lower quality version. If you find a way to speed up a song without decreasing its quality too much, this method might actually be really good, but for now, i don't know :/ UPDATE: On turbowarp with remove misc limits, the cap is set to 64x instead of 8x! Guess i'll share all my songs on turbowarp from now on XD Click on the bar to go to such part of the song, you might also want to click back the flag after changing the mode variable Oh and the song is antipixel by panda eyes btw (his best song imo lol)
