One of my OCs, Skylar, farms very peculiar vegetables from an island far away known as "Vedura Island". All of the vegetables he farms are from this island, and are referred to as "strange vegetables". The strange vegetables are very diverse and are different from vegetables found elsewhere. Some are basic, some are unique, some are dangerous, some are revolutionary, and some are without a doubt, strange. This project is an encyclopedia of all of the strange vegetables Skylar has discovered, and has quite a few changes since Strange Vegetables II, which was released more than 2 years ago. ===== What's New in this Third Installment ===== - After a long time, Skylar has finally discovered 20 new strange vegetables! - The newly discovered strange vegetables are now in a separate category in the showcase to distinguish them from the already discovered vegetables. This category is selected by default, and the UI has been revamped too! - As usual, a "Beast Boy" narration of the vegetable's name plays when it is selected and clicked. Now, there's a toggle that can disable this (apart from the sound playing when clicking the vegetable). - When rendering a pile of vegetables, the pile is now a little more than twice the size! - Some existing vegetables also had revamped descriptions, ranging from spelling and grammatical corrections, to all out new discoveries. - Three pumpkin-based produce have had their sprites updated, those being the bupkin, gimsel, and gimshtabu. - Inside the project are some extra sprites ("EXTRAS") featuring alternate states of vegetables, different sub-species of a vegetable, and even a non-vegetable related to the vegetables! ===== Instructions ===== - Use the arrow keys or arrow buttons to navigate. - Press the "Render Pile" button to render the traditional strange vegetable pile found in the previous Strange Vegetables installments. - Press the automatic sound button to toggle whether the "Beast Boy" narration of the vegetable's name plays when it is selected. - Select the tabs above to switch to previous or new vegetables. Also, Skylar farms strange fruits from an island called "Frutta Island" too, but that's a different story.
All of the strange vegetables are narrated by Beast Boy (via as sampled audio). Man, it was January 31st of 2021 since I made another Strange Vegetables installment (not counting resprites or fruits). Yep, it's been more than 2 years. I had the idea for this project for a very long time (I think I first had the idea back in early/mid-2021) and I never really got the right moment to work on it until recently. @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop also thought of some ideas throughout the years to help me as well, which will be credited in the credits section below. Well, it's here now, and more vegetables have finally been discovered after all this time! ===== Credits ===== Credit to @Burgnew_On_A_Laptop for providing me with the ideas for many strange vegetables that were introduced in this installment. He also provided the names for the foambell, electrourgette, deproniri, bowlobean, and puffoli, as well as the Beast Boy narration for the deproniri and half of the foambell. All of the other narrations and names were constructed by me. Just for good measure, the vegetables I myself initially thought up of are the ptato, beriris, potatabaga, beygrett, softip, rutalettua, polettuo, theyeate, aergus, and zucchizap. Every other vegetable I think was concepted by Burgnew (hopefully I got this right, this was first planned a very long time ago). Also credit to Cartoon Network for the Teen Titans Go vegetable lesson audio used to make up the narrations, which the narrations in turn were initially inspired by a joke project I once came across of a recreation of the scene from that show.
