I loved the OG design a lot, but I felt like I needed to make it with complementary colors. And guess what! Your character had complementary colours on it! Brown and aqua (Or teal if you think it is depending on who you talk to) are complementary colors! Blue is also a complementary colour for aqua and brown. Another complementary colour for aqua is tan which you can set up a colour palette consisting of blue, aqua, tan, and brown which would look super nice depending on what shades you use. Sorry for nerding out abt complementary colours I just love when colours and OCs looks super good thanks to their colour palette.
