> TW : ғʟᴀsʜɪɴɢ ʟɪɢʜᴛs (?) > Ace wandered through the woods, the moon shining up against the sky; his fur moving rhythmically with the soft wind. This was his fate; where he was supposed to be. Until now, Night had been the only one ruling the sky. But not until long. /Do I really want to do this?/ he wondered anxiously. /What do I have in store for me once I do this?/ /Will I have a life?/ his tail moved to and fro, unsure of what this meant for him as he neared the sacred place. /Of course I will! I was chosen, which means they'll understand that even though I have a huge responsibily, I'll still be me, right? I'll still... Be aware of where I am, what I do...?/ His thoughts trailed off. As he looked up at the moon, turning his golden pelt silver, he wondered aloud: "I mean...What could go wrong?" - - - 8 years ago - - - > Ace jumped up and down, trying to catch the butterfly that was just out of his reach. "Ace!" His mother called him. "Time for dinner!" Ace turned his head around and called back: "Going!" As he reached to step forward, his paw touched the ground, and it started to glow. /Light?/ he wondered. As he thought about what had happened, the faint light in the ground seemed to fade. Ace took another careful pawstep, but this time, nothing happened. /Probably just my imagination/, Ace thought, and shrugged. He bounded toward his den happily, swiping his tongue over his mouth as he remembered he was about to eat. - - - 4 years ago - - - > Ace lay moonbathing, the moon turning his golden coat to silver; and looked up at the moon. Suddenly, something bright and yellow filled the sky. /The... Sun?/ Ace thought. /But... Mom told me there was no sun; right?/ The sky went back to normal. /I keep getting all these visions... About... The Light?/ As he decided to get up, he realized he couldn't. He was stuck in place. He flattened his ears. He panicked. He slid out his claws. "Let me go!" He called desperately. "Shh." A sparkly white cat figure appeared out of the blue, approaching towards him. "Calm down." "Wh- What's happening?" he stuttered. The figure approached his ear, and whispered, "you are Day." "What... What do you mean? I'm Ace! Not Day... I-" Without warning, the figure began to fade, and Ace was left with his doubt. "Wait! What do you mean?" Ace called, hoping the figure would reapear. He was stuck in place, his mind whirling. /It was probably just my silly imagination. I'm no Day, I'm Ace/. - - - 1 year ago - - - As Ace placed the flowers in her mother's grave, he mourned her loss. It had been a year since her death. A year. He sighed, his eyes starting to water. He wrapped his tail around his paws. Now he had no one. Absolutely no one. "I'm sorry for your mother." A distant voice said. "It's okay. I... I can make it. I'm old enough to make my own decisions now." Suddenly, his pelt rose. Who was he even talking to? As he slowly turned his head around, there it was again. That sparkly figure that had visited him all those years ago. "Wh- What?" He growled. "Who even are you?" He unsheathed his claws. "I thought you'd know me by now." "What do you mean?" He hissed, his tail lashing. The figure twitched its whiskers amusedly. "I'm Night." - - - Present day - - - When Night had pronounced those words, he had been ready to pounce on her. But he didn't dare to. Was Night actually telling the truth? After her visiting; she had convinced him that he was Day. That he was the Light. The chosen one. Now Night was leading him towards the “special place” she hadn’t given an actual name to. He went back to his thoughts. But was /he/ the Light though? What if he had just made it up all in his head to feel special? What if… He stopped walking as he realized he was at the special place. It was a cave. A simple cave. /What's so special about this place?/ He thought. “Are you ready?” Night asked, gently patting his back with her tail. He doubted. Was he ready? Of course he was. This was his destiny. “Yes,” he answered, still a bit unsure. As they padded towards the cave entrance, a purple light seemed to fill the space. They were crystals. It was beautiful. "Wow..." Night looked amused. "It is a sacred place, after all," she mewed. "It's beautiful." Ace looked with awe around him. They kept on walking, and with every quickened heartbeat Ace felt even more anxious. Where was Night taking him? There seemed to be no end to the cave, until Night mewed: "We're here." Light seemed to fill a wide space of the cave. There was two crystals placed on each side of the wide cave. One was a crystal shaped moon, with a glowing blue light. And the other one was a sun shaped crystal, but no light emerged from it. Ace suddenly understood. He was supposed to make the sun shaped crystal glow. Somehow. Night looked at him, sympathy in her eyes, and asked, "may I tell you a story?" Ace looked at her. "Uhm... Sure." "There was a last Day. Did you know that, Ace?" Night asked rhetorically. [ + ]

"They ended up destroying themselves, because there was only too much power a cat could have; but they ended up causing so much trouble. And, after that, the crystal stopped working, and I was the only one who could keep the balance. But, year after year, I just couldn't; I needed to find the next Day. It was too much work for one cat alone, and sunlight was desperately needed." Night paused, as if finding the correct words to tell him something. "But... You must understand something more." Suddenly, Ace's fur rose. What was Night meowing about? "The next Day, due to the last occurences, would get its soul taken away in order to prevent chaos." Ace flattened his ears. "What!?" he growled. "What do you mean...?" he whispered, his voice hoarse. "Your soul contains the Light. It's the only way to fulfill the balance." "But... What about you? What about your soul?" Night looked at him. "It happened to me, too; after deciding to come to terms with what happened. You would be a spirit. You'd be able to see your mother and father again, even if that meant not being able to live a normal life as a cat." Ace made up his mind. This was his destiny. He wanted to see his mother and father so much. Plus, he'd be restoring Light in the world. There was no escaping his fate. "I... I understand. I'll do it." Night smiled, signaling the sun shaped crystal with her tail. "Touch your nose with it." Ace nodded, padded over to the crystal, took a deep breath and he touched his nose with it. Suddenly, Night was turned into Day; the bright rays of the sun filling every corner of the world. - - - ᴛʜᴇ ᴇɴᴅ ♥ - - - Bio: > Name: Ace/Day > Pronouns: He/him > Sexuality: Bi, ace - - - creds: > art . @beqvish > char . currently belongs to @kingsdee !! > coding . @capitanfluffy [ amazing code btw haha- like always lol /g /gen /pos ] > song . la lune, madeon ft. dan smith + ji-eun's sunset, city girl - - -
