Frightened of what her clanmates, and worse, Starclan, might do if they discovered her treachery of the medicine cat code, Amberleaf did what she believed best and left Morningkit at the border with Riverclan, covered in mud to hide her Windclan scent. She was close friends with the Riverclan medicine cat, Shimmerpool, and trusted that her kit would be well cared for. She hid and waited until a patrol discovered the kit, and then fled before they could locate its mother. Amberleaf was torn about leaving her kit, but she knew Morningkit would be better off raised in a clan where she wasn't believed cursed because of a shattered code. After a while of fruitless searching for the kit's mother, Morningkit was brought back to the Riverclan camp and was eventually accepted as one of them. It would be a very long time before Morningpaw would discover that she was not Riverclan-born. She never lost her Windclan physique and swiftness, never grew as powerful, sleek, round, and thick-furred as her Riverclan clanmates. She loved to run, and would sometimes watch Windclan cats hunt from her side of the border, but the river was her home, and always would be. Other Facts: Morningpaw never really had a passion for being a warrior, but she wasn't one to sit around in a medicine den all day. She had an interest in herbs and Starclan, and loved to learn about cats from other clans, but Riverclan already had a medicine cat apprentice. She therefore accepted a warrior mentor without complaint.
