Good news, everyone! I'm getting my tablet for sure tomorrow! I'm so excited! I'll be able to make digital art for this, too. I'm not sure if this kind of 'application' is allowed in the roleplay, but I didn't find a rule against it. Basically, Coral (the gem you see washed up on shore there) is brand new and has never even taken on a humanoid form yet. The coral gemstone itself does not originate from minerals, but is actually organic. When coral polyps (that crazy stuff that looks like antlers) die, their hardened skeleton remains and eventually forms into a gemstone. My little theory/explanation of Coral here is that with an organic clump of dead things that isn't even made of minerals, sentience or magic of any kind would not be possible. However, a vast abundance of gems and magic around where Coral was formed allowed it to happen. Little is known about this miracle of death. This is the first chapter in Coral's story, and I'm excited to see what will happen! Currently, Coral is washed up on the beach. A gray-skinned gem has taken notice of her. Coral tried multiple times to form, but failed. She stayed in her gem and attempted to grow a coral reef from the sand at a snail's pace, and eventually tried to form again, this time into a giant, powerful gem. Failed and exhausted, Coral gave up.
I want to keep Coral's story semi-private and keep a constant story arc going. I don't want to get real close with a bunch of other gems, but I'll do short encounters from time to time. Also, I want people who are literate and (at least) decent writers to roleplay with me. Please don't just do "Whats'isface attacked the monster and dodged. The monster screeched". If you're going to RP with me and someone else is already doing so, please read the comment chain and find a way to have your character arrive in the story without it being spontaneous and random like "oh hi im here now". I want mostly all of my roleplaying to have a timeline of some sort, so when Coral takes on a humanoid form and I make an application, I'll keep track of everything that's happening to her. For now though, she's just a tiny, helpless stone washed up on the shore ready for you to notice. Song: Steven Universe Soundtrack - Underwater Temple
