This project was inspired by lavamater-1's project. Check out his page for some cool stuff! What is the Collatz Conjecture? Basically, the Collatz Conjecture is a mathematical phenomena, where any number is to be chosen as the starting number. If the number is even, it will be halved. If the number is odd, it will be tripled and have 1 added to it. This can be represented as even: x/2 and odd: 3x+1. The conjecture part of these equations is that the number will ALWAYS end in the "4, 2, 1" sequence. Many mathematicians have attempted to find a number that didn't follow this conjecture, but it has never happened. hi :)
